So I notice in some photos the G5 is the larger square box...and mine is the thinner one. Any difference between the two?

No, the new, bigger box is better for cooling the unit.

just learning the steering wheel controls - is what I've underlined here a typo?
surely it should say channel switch, not volume?
thanks

Volume moves the speedo to select the menus, and channel moves the tach to select the function. Once you have selected the function, moving the volume up/down saves that function.

ISO 27.13 Notes

1) Disabled lean-run safety when DME is in lean spool mode below 3000rpm.
2) Slightly rescaled the open loop mapping from max effect at +7psi over DME BT to max effect at +5psi over DME BT. This should improve some of the fuel trim maxing out issue we're seeing with colder weather but may increase chances for 29F2 codes if open loop is left set too high.

Would his have any effect on those running a flash?

Shouldn't have much effect if using a back end flash.

When does open loop occur? Is it wise for everyone to update to this new file?

In cases where open loop has learned up to the max of say 95 when adding this firmware you may get a 29F2 code if open loop is too high for your DME version. If so just lower it by 5 or 10.

I was having this same issue, and I tried your advice. However, when I went to download, I hit "save as" and its either PHP or all files. No .hex appears?

Just save it as is to your desktop and just rename the extension to hex. I've done it. It works.

so I have not been able to test out 27.12 much, but I do live here in Toronto, Ontario and there been substantial snow fall recently and very cold temperatures. Would this justify updating to the new 27.13? how will this firmware react when the weather warms up here in the spring?

Nothing to do with external temps, though extreme cold means more power for our engine.

I have had readings on jb interface of sub 32 degrees while spraying 100% meth.would that be too dense for our cars or bad around or below 32 degrees?

The first thing I'd check are all the hose connections on that FMIC to make sure there's no leaks. I put mine in a month ago and probably spent a hr making sure I had all the hoses and clamp seated properly behind the beads to avoid having to deal with crawling under there again.

I hijacked my fuel guage and I'm only getting 5 lbs of boost. Is it possible that my new FMIC is broken internally?
Way under target. You certainly have a leak. Like the other guy said double check all the connections of the FMIC.
