Default S63TU Map 4 Details - 09-29-2018, 01:33 AM

The latest level S63TU JB4 firmware has a new map4 - "Adjusted map4 to a low boost "VALET MAP". This has the dual purpose of having a slower map you can let "friends" borrow the car with, an economy map, and a more effective safety map especially for those running back end flash maps with higher targets".
Can we please have some more technical info on this valet map:
(i) what is the boost level?
(ii) what is the safety benefit for those running back end flash maps with higher boost targets?

It should be half of what your BEF target is IIRC. Terry would know better.

Depending on the firmware version it's set to 10-12psi. Since flash targets are so high (>20psi) the JB4 reverting back to "stock" as a safety precaution is no longer an effective safety measure. This provides a lower than stock map to serve that function.

Log it and lets evaluate your specific setup if you want.

Thanks a lot - my logs confirm that 100%. I've posted logs on maps 0,1,2 and 4 (JB4+BCM together with BM3 Stage2, 91 octane) in the support section. I was just wondering about the rationale of the lower boost in map4 when being used with a BEF like the BM3 Stage 2 - all makes sense now.
