Default Help With BMW Part Numbers - 07-02-2017, 02:36 AM

I'm needing a little help with a BMW part number. In an attempt to mount a phone air vent bracket, I've damaged my driver's side vent (EU rhd variant) and need to replace it.

The part number is 64227059188 (sometimes referred to as just 7059188) but, after the part number I've seen -12, -13 and -14 and am not really sure what it refers to?

Mine is a -14 so do I need a 'like for like' or would one of the others be OK?

I'm wondering if it is a revision number (like we see on injectors) or possibly a production site code?

Its either a revision or a batch number. Revisions usually have different part numbers, so I'd go with a batch number.

Running the part number shows no previous versions of that part, so just get that part number and don't worry about the -xx.

Great - thanks Mike. . I was hoping it was something like that as there's lots of -12 and -13s around at a reasonable price whereas I can't find any -14s

Well, ordered a couple as I'm going to be experimenting with the phone mount. One was a -12 and the other a -13. Both are identical to my original -14.
