Exclamation Question on false knock - 07-14-2018, 02:01 PM

Hi guys , I’ve been logging a false knock randomly for the past few weeks with forged internals. I am running fuel it PI with methanol. Meth flow starts to spray at 6 psi. I changed coil (PR upgraded coils), spark , and injector but false knock is still in its place. I am running a single cm10 nozzle for IAT suppression but on the contrary it goes really high and fast.

What is strange point is that I’ve been running the car with Vp ms 109 and Vp m1 methanol , I meant tons of octane here. But I wonder if my spark gap on which is 0.018 proper for race fuel or not , is it too closed for race gas ? Can it induce false knock ?? I also desensitized knock tables via MHD.

I also think that ,since meth pressure is not high enough to provide the PI kit and the nozzle in the charge pipe, so meth is not correctly atomized into the charge pipe, inducing abnormal combustion

So when it comes to buy the new product called CPI (charge pipe injection) which needs only 40 psi to be able to be feed from the meth pump while nozzle needs 150 psi to spray , do you guys agree ?

I am really stuck , any help would be greatly appareciated.

Thanks for the input. But as I know Jb4 detects every faulty things , it never popped up regarding o2 sensors. Happened the same thing to you ?

That being said , should I both change all four o2 sensors and knock sensors to get rid of false knock ?

I just see a lot of overboosting in the beginning.

Thanks payam , I’m running with PR coils with ngk sparks gapped at 0.018’’, is it too closed for race gas ? I also didn’t choose one the options of MHD for PR coils.
