Default weird CEL & codes, fixed - 05-26-2020, 11:51 AM

Car: 2017 AMG C63, JB4 only, map 4 w/ E30 mix daily

Recently under lazy traffic driving, I got a flashing CEL. Idle went rough, and the car went into safe mode. I pulled over, CEL turned solid on, and read codes and got the following:

0300 - random/multiple cyl misfires
0303 - misfire cyl 3
0201 - injector circuit malfunction cyl 1
0600 - serial link communcation
0000 - unknown

After replacing plugs with new OEM, ran codes again and got a bit diferent set:

0106 - The intake manifold pressure sensor has a malfunction. The limit value for electrical voltage has not been attained.
152B - Leak detected in the intake air system , bank1
2279 - Leak detected in the intake air system , bank1
0300 - Misfire, the signal amplitude is greater than the maximum amplitude.
0301 - Misfire Cyl 1, There is a signal fault or the messages faulty

Neither the shop that did the plugs nor BMS was much help in diagnosing the issue, so I removed the JB4 and took it to the dealership for diagnosis, since it is still under warranty.

Turns out the problem was a software update the dealership needed to install. They said these symptoms were very common when cars came in needing the update.

I'm posting this for the archives and in case anyone else gets this odd set of codes.
