Default Really ruff idle - 09-28-2021, 04:03 AM

I have seen a few posts where users very starting to get ruff idle at first turned on and would get worse or time.

I have now started to get this over the last week and today it was really bad to the point it felt like it was going to stall and when I went to drive off it felt like it was missing.

I understand the recommended fix is to disconnect the battery for 5 min as a type of reset so I disconnected my battery and then started the car and it ran perfect again.

I guess my question is, why is it doing this? Is this something that happens to everyone with aJB4 or is possibly a faulty JB4?

I really don't want to have to disconnect the battery every month.

Who knows, any number of things can cause a rough idle. If it was the JB4 itself you'd have fault codes for the sensors it attaches to that would not clear. Disconnecting the battery won't do anything to the JB4 so if that cleaned it up likely the ECUs adaptions. Any mods on the car?

Thanks for the reply.

I have the following Engine Mods:

HKS Spark Plugs
MSD Ignition Coils
Throttle Controller
Intercooler Resonator Delete

Had no issue prior to the JB4 Install.

I assume there isnt anything you can do about the adaption except disconnect the battery or get a ECU Tune.
