Hi guys. I have a 2010 535i X-Drive with the M Sport package so naturally it came with the 18in M sport rims. I wanted to switch them out with the 19in style 172 rims off the 550i. My question is do I need wheel spacers or any suspension modifications; I've never ever switched rims on any of my cars ever before so I have no idea. Left is the one i have.

AWD e60's require higher offsets than the RWD's so they will probably stick out to far past the fenders. Do you know the offsets and widths of the new wheels? You're going to need the offsets to be around 35.

Sizes are
Front 19x 8.5 Et 18
Rear 19x 9.5 Et32

Those will both sit about 30mm farther out than your current wheels. You might have the room in the rear, but the fronts will probably stick out too far...

The owner of the rims said I only need 15mm spacers on the rear

Spacers will push them out even farther. Without spacers those wheels will sit 1.2 inches farther out than your current wheels.

Why don’t you see if the owner will let you mount them up on one side to see? I would let someone do that. Floor jack, portable impact wrench, 30 mins...

I have the same car with the same wheels. The 550i wheels will not fit at all. The fronts on the X drive 5 are super picky when it comes to specs. To hold be over I put 10mm spacers in the front and 15mm in the back and it makes the car look 10x better.

I'm still in the market for a wider back tire though similar to the regular sport wheels so I can run a 275 back there.

You need 32-38ish offset front and rear. Depending on width obviously.

Exactly!!! The correct rear offset would be 35mm in a 19x9.5

Fronts Will not work at all. Offset should be et33 for 19x8.5
