I understand what you guys are saying and thank you for the info. I think what people are going to want to know is a PSI recommendation thatís relatively safe. Do we feel pretty good about 20 add? Which is roughly 17-18psi? An actual number would be best.

Everyone running this set up is FBO and pushing x98 through CM10-CM14.

It's your car you run whatever you want. Logic dictates that too much power on lean afr's is not good for the longevity of the engine.

What other people run is their choice. I will have a PS2 on the shop car and I will start running it at 15-16 psi and monitor it for some time. Possibly run 20% E and dual CM7/5 and monitor AFR and DME_BT.

Time will tell if these engines will hold up. It's better to run 15-16 psi on PS2 then to run 19-20 psi on PS1. More power at less boost is always better. Once we find a way to richen AFR it will be like having a new car with the extra power

Trust me, I have no plans on testing the theory. All I'm saying is that no one can definitively state what is "safe" without data. Right now we are just going on previous experience and intuition.

But the safe thing, in my opinion, is to also try and achieve the factory targets. Experience also tells us that running richer and cooling combustion temps will also keep us "safer."

People ask this question all the time. "How much boost can I run?"

Simple answer...we don't know. 18psi may be fine for car A and not for car B. Too many variables, that is why we always ask for logs. CM 10-14 ....I'm assuming you mean dual CM5 or dual CM7's?

Is the B58 wheel set the same as the compressor and turbine in the N55 stage 2? What are the wheel specs? I assume it's the same upgraded bearing and shaft setup, too. No?

Yes CM7/5 combo or CM7/7 combo would be fine.

Friend just got a 2014 M6 DCT (stock) did 2 60-130ish runs at 16psi(peak) and went toe to toe. Not bad for conservative boost.

That's excellent for only 16psi peak! Looking forward to more!

Went to a stand alone meth kit and running CM10 total instead of higher value and just using meth instead of x98. I get M1 at the pump for $2.80 a gallon is it worth ordering 5 gallon drums for $42 vs just using meth? I donít notice much of a difference in logs or feel. Thoughts?

Meth will require more volume than E98, that is the biggest advantage to running E98.

What do you think the efficiency range is of this turbo? Feels like at 16-17 itís still below it.

That would be a question for Pure as we don't have the efficiency charts or anyway to test and verify, especially since we haven't come anywhere close to maxing this turbo out due to the DME limitations.

No point to it until we get the tuning resolved.

Steve,

Just require some clarity. So you're currently utilising BMS's meth kit through the JB4 to deliver ethanol? Considering this is a preliminary solution until we can eventually crack why the DME hates us so much? Have you altered the system in anyway? Are you using the stock meth bottle or a fuel cell now?

The gains of this kit are sublime, but long term makes little sense to run the car in this state of tune. Do we know whether the DME looks at AFR, fuel flow or another parameter (or a multitude) before shutting down the throttle?

If real, we might be very close to getting new fuel scalers.

I emailed K8 Strasse and they confirmed they are able to flash the B58, and thus also got around the fuel cap issues. I had to use google translate to send them the email, but I think it was very clear and they responded like they knew what I was asking. They said they'll be posting more info + dyno on their instagram soon: https://www.instagram.com/k8_strasse/

Others have emailed them as well and got some other info: The flash is done via the OBD port and can take up to 8 hours depending on what is being changed. The flash is currently only being done in Moscow but they intend on expanding to other authorized dealers.

I read on their website that they also offer a remote service via laptop/internet ;-)

That's a step in the right direction...think we'll wait until it's stateside and a little more robust though.

They told me the fuel pump hardware limit is 430 max HP, and I can believe it since the b58 looks like it uses the same setup as the b48 (same parts inc injectors)

I thought this platform was supposed to use a much better fuel pump than the n55?
