Question Help a new guy out with Logs? Jetta 1.4T - 09-21-2020, 07:14 AM

Hey all! Recently got the JB4 for my 5-speed '18 Jetta with the 1.4T. I've been logging and making slight adjustments to MAP 6 because my car triggers the 20 PSI overboost safety if I don't.

Right now, depending on circumstances, my car tops out anywhere between 18.5-21 PSI. Doing a full throttle pull on an incline in 3rd starting at 1.5K RPM is when boost hits around 21. I know that 21 can be a bit sketchy with the stock turbo, so I want to make sure that things look healthy based on logs.

How should things like AFR, fuel trim, IGN 1 and other parameters respond with a healthy tune? I'm not asking for what numbers I should see (maybe aside from AFR), but what kind of trends I should see. Should I log with MAP 0 and then try to match the same trends?

I've got a modified intake (not a CAI) and a ***-back exhaust, so I'd assume those factors make a difference, as well. Thanks so much for the help guys. For what it's worth, I have some solid understanding of engines, but tune adjustments are all new to me.

Hi,

You want to see the IGn1 climbing as the rpm climb from around 4000 and higher. If it is doing step down of 3 you need to lower boost a bit.
If its touching 21 its ok but not holding it.
Biggest difference on these is octane.
Post map 6 settings and I can check if they are overboard.
