Default Stuck, electrical. Car now won't start. - 09-07-2020, 07:26 AM

Recently I was driving the car and all the dash lights lit up and the wipers came on and wouldn't turn off. Stopped the car and restarted fine but the lights came back and wipers started again. Checked and cleared codes trying to get it to start and nothing changed. Took it to BMW and they're saying starter is bad. I just don't see it being the starter with the codes I was receiving. Can't find anything definitive in the forums either. Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong. Any advice is much appreciated. Codes;
2DEB- DME: power management, vehicle electrical system
2E82- DME: electric coolant pump cutoff
CD95- Message (operation, cruise control/ACC, 0x194) faulty,
receiver DME, transmitter DSC/ SZL/ LWS/ ACC

Starter may be bad but it could be alternator? I would recommend to check the battery first to make sure it has enough juice to crank the starter. If the alternator is bad the car should run fine until the battery doesn't have enough juice to keep running the car.

Starter was bad. I have replaced it now but still having the same problems. Mainly the 2DEB code keeps popping up. Getting a gear symbol on dash also plus when I tried to see if it would drive felt a little clunk from the tranny. Decided to pull it back into the garage and research further. I'm adding a complete list of code #'s if that helps anyone know what's going on.

2DEB
CD95
2E82
5014
5DF7
9503
D373
D364
9CC0
9CBF
9315
9C6C
931D
A6CF
93C3
A9AC

I know some of these codes have to do with other issues. The concerning ones are the top three codes.

Check the trunk for water, there is a mini ecu back there that burns/ corrodes often. The wipers going on is a tell tale sigh that it leads to this.

There's a short somewhere. Went to pop trunk and the battery is dead. Full charged it at Autozone yesterday afternoon. SMDH.

A short won’t cause a dead battery, it will pop a fuse. Your IBS sensor is the first place I’d look, it was draining my battery overnight.

It was the voltage regulator. Over charged the battery, killed the starter also. Replaced all three and all is well.
