G'day fellas,
So I've read quite a bit of info on Terry and the Jb4 and I'm keen to give it a go however there are a couple of things I'm unsure about:

1. What are you guys referring to when you talk about down *****? Are you referring to the exhaust system from the flange to the ***?

2. I run 98 octane in my f10, will I get 80 hp and 100 foot pounds of torque?

3. What am I looking for to make sure the car can take a stage tWo kit?

4. There has been mention a couple of times about software so of you guys have to delete codes. Do I need that if I can only put in stage 1, and what does this software cost?

If these gains are realistic you fellas in the U.S. should be bloody happy- I got quoted $2,200 for a ECU Flash to make the same gains.

I had it installed at a dealer here in Australia. Smoother take off, rev limiter increased to 7K, in sport mode it kicks like a mule when you put your foot down.

for 600 bucks I recommend it.

looking to fit the Down ***** now.

I may have missed this, but has there been a 2013 update for the F10 N55 JB4? Also, is the current Stage 1 tune for the F10 N55 still the same program as 1 year ago? I know updates won't be available for the Stage 1; however, I didn't know if a newer tune is being utilized.

I may sound like a broken record, but I am very excited about the F10 BMW intake!! I know BMS has had some recent time to test this with a F10 N55. Terry, I hope you have a cool package that will have the intake and tune.

I think that is just for the F30. Past information shows that the n55 programming in the f30 and f10 are not identical. Maybe something has changed

That is the correct firmware for the F10. F10 and F30 firmware are the same. Been running this file on my F10 for months

I just installed the JB4 on my certified pre-owned Jet Black 2011 535xi F10 N55 vehicle. It has 44,000 miles on it. My first BMW. I love it! I had the vehicle for only a few days when I couldn't take the dreaded "tip in"/"throttle response lag" from a dead stop that so many others have complained about on the forums. It really is a dangerous aspect of this vehicle if you don't know how it is going to respond at first. While researching this problem I found people talking about the JB4 and how it helped relieve some of this problem. And so, like so many other people that have installed the JB4 before me have suggested, I decided to "just do it".

I am not an experienced mechanic by any stretch of the imagination and was a little worried about performing the install myself, but I studied the install directions many times, tried to pre-locate all the sensors, made sure the CANbus wires existed in the connector described in the instructions, and scoured the forums for other people's install experiences. So after about one hour (and working around a thunderstorm and closing the trunk lid while the battery was disconnected) I got the JB4 successfully installed without any problems. It really is pretty easy. I'm sure I could take it off and put it back on in under 15 minutes now.

All I can say is WOW! The JB4 really does wake the car up. I'll bet it shaved almost a second off the 0-60 time. I'll try to get some firm times at some point. The "tip in" problem is still there but maybe very slightly better. It's like the car just won't move for almost a full second after it is at a full stop. Very frustrating. Can I increase the Default Wastegate Position value to help this?

Now I just can't wait until BMS releases their N55 Performance Intake in a month or so for my vehicle.

What is the ISO firmware version for? I think I read somewhere it is not compatible with the F10 N55 but just curious what it is for?

Is Map 5 functional on the F10 N55?

Have there been any updates to the F10 n55 tunes recently? I know tweaks were anticipated with the intro of the f30-n55.

Also, how would a JB4 owner know of these updates (improvements) promptly upon release?

Is it confirmed that the fan-battery drain issue on the BMS F10 is resolved? My F10 is a garage queen and she may sit for a couple of weeks at a time. Will I ever have to worry about losing juice on start-up with a JB4?

I still get the battery drain if it sits about 5 days or so. I just upgraded the firmware to the 8D version, so we'll see if that resolves it.

No. Still get the drain. I've started hooking up a battery charger just to keep the battery fully charged.

So I was looking at the updated installation PDF for the F10 N55 Stage 2 and it states "For both Stage1 & Stage2 F10 models the MAF connector (purple harness, connector 3)
is not needed. It can be left tucked out of the way." Didn't the old instructions say to connect this? Should I disconnect it now or does it hurt to leave it connected?

Good question, I read that it wasnt used and the later instructions mentioned to connect the purple so I did and have no problems at all. My instinct is to leave it alone but would like to know the answer you asked. Leave it connected or? Thanks.

I haven't had any battery issues with the new firmware. I used to have this issue at least twice a week but after the new firmware update and following Terry's new install guide which says not to connect the MAF sensor all my battery problems went away.
