Question, on the latest 4/22 update, is it possible to manually start/stop logging? I remember there was an issue with earlier JB4 alpha logging software where logs would start automatically when the interface software was loaded.

I don't remember any bugs. But you press start or F1 to start and stop or F2 to stop. If its logging and you don't want it to log just press F2 or stop.

Terry I remember the very early jb4 interface would start logging automatically on startup?

When you connect it starts logging automatically as that is how most use it. You can press F2 to stop it from logging if you prefer. Or ignore it and press stop/start again to restart it when you want to start.

If we don't have a laptop, can we just ship our jb4 to get upgraded. I won't do it every upgrade but one day probably.

If you want to mail in the control box with a $20 bill ($5 to cover return shipping and $15 for a large pizza) we can update the firmware and mail it back to you. But it's *much* cheaper and easier to update yourself using the USB cable.

Thanks Terry. I'm pretty computer savvy and used to program corvettes with the stand alone FAST system well before there was any auto learn capabilities so I'm not scared of doing it. It's that my laptop is a work laptop so I don't have admin rights to download the program. Crazy idea but can I hook the jb4 to a desktop with a 12v battery I have to power it up (connect to the power wire)?

That could work but you'd also need to ground the black wire within the harness (going to pin #32 on the large black subconnector)

I guess with the dual-cone intake and 94 octane, the best map is map 1 or map 5?

Alright so out of *** and FMIC, *** seem the way to go, so I will get *** first and then get an FMIC later, thanks for the input, although with *** is the stock exhaust sufficient from the *** back to get 400-450 HP? I have seen where a few people get an after market exhaust but is this necessary to achieve that goal?

I switch between maps fairly often, but sometimes it takes a number of tries to get into the command mode via the steering wheel controls. Am I doing something wrong?

There is a really short window to hit both at the same time. Maybe we'll widen that in a future version if more people have problems getting in there.

I have absolutely no problem and I hop in control mode often while driving. I would think by widening that window you would run into the risk of going into command mode when switching radio stations and adjusting volume in close timing of each other which I do often while radio surfing. Just my 2 cents

Hi Terry,
I know I spoke of this before but, any chance you could add menu option 4-6 to for force the CANflap closed?
I'm asking for this because I plan to make a modified exhaust soon that will most probably be extremely loud (too loud) when the flap is open, such as when the car is first started.

Thanks

I've been thinking of it. And it would open only at WOT?
