Thanks for the info, so to clarify that i understand correctly, i should enable bit 6 in options and i will get the boost correlated maps. The thing is i am running stock turbos(no stock ff bef), is it still good to go?

You need to request the specific FF Backend Flash from terry for stock turbos then activate Bit 6 and you good to go.

I read your previous posts. I think you may be running the Fuelit blutooth kit where you van view your ethanol content in the Fuelit or Jb4 app which is not what this thread is about.
This thread is how to use the JB4 with the Fuel-it Flex Fuel kit with the Motive Flex Fuel module.
Let me know if i understand you correctly.

Okay I misunderstood the aim of this thread. My apologies. But just to let you know Terry prescribes the hybrid FF bef because there is no stock turbo version. I'll edit my prev post so no one gets confused.

I just bought the Fuel It Bluetooth set up ,hoping to just hook up the white wire to pin 16 and have it read same value as the app, my JB4 is for the mercedes platform , is there anything else I should know trying to see if there’s another step aside from the red and black wires being hooked up
Thanks

You will have to email burgertuning or fuelit directly for guidance on the Mercedes model. This guide is specifically for the N54. Sorry.

Do you need to run map 5 only when using the FF BEF or can you still use other JB4 maps?

Yes, you can run any map but start testing with map 1 and progress from there. It all depends on your supporting mods and how much ethanol you are running. For me map 7 with around E60 was sort of safe limit with stock HPFP and "stage 2" LPFP.

I'm about to attempt to wire up the flex fuel with my jb4 using the write up on n54tech.com.....i know what bef i need and i have it ready to go...... My question is do i flash the map using standard mhd bef or mhd flex fuel flasher? I'm only asking because the maps are available through standard download now and it doesn't say anything about flashing them different

@elite11b
1. Remember to purchase the MHD flex fuel module from the MHD store. This flash is autonatically applied by MHD when a flex fuel map is flashed.
2. Then choose the appropriate flex BEF based on your software version and mods from here: "Current BEF Templates" N54 MHD Back End Flash Maps - N54Tech.com - International Turbo Racing Discussion
2. Then flash it to your car as you would flash a normal BEF using MHD.
3. Follow the guide as in post #1 in this thread and you should be okay.

I just completed this extra wiring for this (already had fuel-it sensor wired into Jb4), and getting good signals. I've been running the IANOS E85 PI flash, since I have extra fueling using CPI.
Not sure which bef I should use now, or if I need a custom one. I loaded the IANOS flex fuel it 4 flash, and it seems to be working (still getting the fuelen trace in the logs) but not sure if this flash supports PI correctly or not. Anyone here know?

You have the correct BEF... Log it so Steve can review it for you.

Has anyone ever watched the “zero to 60” YouTube channel & his video on wiring the fuel it kit to JB4 for flex fuel? All he did was plug his white fuel it wire into pin 16 on the JB4 & that was it. Obviously power & ground wires as well. He then flashed a backend flash & his flex fuel worked. Confused why this thread has more wiring to it than what he did. What am I missing?

Any jb4 Flex Fuel work around that works should be welcomed. Having said that, I have not seen the Youtube guy's flex fuel configuration to comment on it... Post a link?
In this guide there is only (one) extra signal wire connection to pin #2 in the jb4. That should not create a confusion of wiring. Pin #16 is connected directly to the DME.

I guess I can’t post the link because I haven’t made enough posts on these forums yet. But today I finally got around to trying to set up flex fuel myself & I’m not getting it to work by doing it the way he shows in the video or by doing it the way it’s shown in this thread. Getting an e85 content reading of 73 on my fuel it app, 70 on MHD monitoring, & 63 on JB4. 63 seems to be a default number on my JB4 because it was at 63 before doing any of the wiring and hasn’t changed no matter which wiring I do. Perhaps I have a tuning issue.

Try the BMS Flex Fuel BEF and see if it works as a way of ruling out issues.
Also make sure the MHD FF one time flash option is enabled on the MHD side.

Just tried the bms bef, still showing the same e85 content on JB4. Not sure what you mean by selecting the MHD one time ff option or where that is. Tried looking. I bought the MHD flex fuel license if that’s what you mean. Thanks for your help.

Yes i was refering to the Flex Fuel license.
I am not sure what the issue could be other than a voltage/scaling issue. Try to get the eth reading in MHD on target as per the physical percentage in your fuel tank. If you have that right then its easier to troubleshoot why the Jb4 reading is not corresponding. Do you have a log so one can check your settings?
You can drop Terry@bms an email directly... He always respond almost immediately to his emails.
