Default Longtime user...new JB4 Connection Issues! - 09-29-2018, 01:52 PM

I have been using the JB4 in my car ('10 335i N54) over the past 4-5yrs without any problems...installed/uninstalled it too many times to count so the process, inclusive of connecting to my laptop for updates or BEF setups is second nature. With that being said, I ran into an issue the other day where I was reinstalling the JB4 and after multiple attempts now (tried on 2 different PCs and a Mac), my car will not recognize it (steering wheel controls not working, JB4 app on laptop fails to connect, and the car starts up and stumbles then quickly dies. Anyone have any insight to this???

Also, not sure if this may be a factor, but I recall the last time I had the JB4 on, I had an issue with a firmware update not completing...if this is the root cause, how do I go about uploading a new/full firmware when now nothing will recognize the JB4 to begin with? Appreciate any help on this in advance! And for reference in case it helps, below are pics of my JB4:

Well in case anyone else comes across this issue, I found the solution was having to order a new 2580 master chip from Burger to swap out with the old one. After that, everything was back to normal...
