Hi Terry. Will the AFR be different (more rich?) from JB4 only vs JB4 + BEF? I'm FBO and JB4 Map 5 log AFR is about 14.8-15 at around 4000rpm and about 11.7-12 at about 6000 rpm. Will my AFR be a tad richer with the BEF? I am a newbie in tuning, and from what I have read is turbo engines should run richer to lower temps and decrease knocks.
Thanks.

2014 BMW M235i auto. JB4 & EWG connector + BEF (BMS EWG Race 10 map), 98 RON pump fuel (93 oct), BMS WMI kit (dual BM5 nozzles, 70% meth mix, boost additive 50, Scaling 60, min flow boost 9.0), GruppeM intake, ER CP, Forge BOV, Wagner Evo II competition intercooler, ER ******* **, eisenmann exhaust, quaife LSD.

Thanks for your reply Terry, however i wish it was that simple

If you look at row 19-21 in log with BEF the AFR "spikes" and at the same time the TRIMS are hitting 10-11. AFter that event the trims decrease and so does the AFR slowly.

Since ive only checked a few logs and ive only seen this in one, i guess this could be an isolated event.

But according to you the maximum value of 50 in the JB4 logs, for trim, has not changed regardless of stock flash och BEF?
I'm trying to understand what has changed since in the BEF's since i will help a friend with a custom map 6 once we flashed his car with your race-BEF..

For those of us who run the JB4 CANbus wires to the harness behind the OBD port instead of using the BMS OBD connector, is it sufficient to put the JB4 on map 0 to flash? or do we need to remove the JB4 CANbus wires completely every time we want to flash a new BEF map. I have the two canbus wires positapped to the grey/blue OBD wires directly, as I know many others do.
*EDIT*: realized that MHD can't communicate with the ECU while the CANbus wires are connected. Added an in-line dual throw switch for quick-disconnect of the JB4 wires when flashing by BEF with MHD.

Hey guys, I got MHD yesterday and installed the pwg3_race3 map and im running pwg11 on my JB4
This morning I got the following codes:
1221
0818
0001
I have 2 questions, what do these codes mean and also what is the difference between pwg3_race3 and pwg3_race3b?

Select F series before reading codes, the higher the number/letter the newer the map.

If you are running just a OTS map does the JB4 have to be removed completely from the car or can you put it on Map 0 and unplug it from the OBD port? Thanks.

Any help guys. Trying BEF for the first time today. Getting codes:

121002 Map sensor short to ground
123002 waste gate control short circuit to ground
120408 reduced power mode

Any ideas where I can start troubleshooting? Reflashed to Map0 then reloaded the BEF.
firmware is latest iso10 T13.

Sounds like an issue with boost solenoid circuit, maybe damaged board cutting diode wrong.

If FP_H is faulty you need to determine why. Did you touch the low pressure system?

The order of operations doesn't matter. Cold start disabling can have side effects. If you dislike them then turn it back on.

Fuel trim is just one value based on JB4 settings, flash settings, including boost targets, air/fuel ratio targets, etc. If fuel trims are exceeding say 45 the you need to rescale them by raising open loop in the JB4. If open loop is already at 70, then you will need to adjust the fuel scalar settings in the BEF directly.

Any chance we will see a PWG1_E85 back end flash added?
Currently getting some burbles / shaking / jerking at high RPMS while running e20 with the pump BEF and the latest ISO on my FBO pwg f30. Avg_Ign higher than I'd like at around 6.5 and not sure why.
