That doesn't make sense. If that was accurate, it would not affect only cyl 5 and 6. Also, it does not happen on shifts, it happens before shifts.
It's more likely noise from the flywheel...

Doubt it. You could try doing 80ftlbs, but it may be worth checking torque after a couple heat cycles. Note, only tightening.
Also, you didn't reuse the gasket, right?
