That does not sound like EKP module. EKP failure usually will cause the module to overheat, and the LPFP to turn off until the EKP cools down.

yes, could be the oil supply leaking - especially if it was hard for installer to get to/tighten all the way. Maybe have just become loose and recently started leaking, by the look of it.

They do fail and throw code, shouldn't hurt anything or be related to the fuel pump.
