A bad pcv setup with engine running more boost with leaky piston ring can cause engine internal pressure .... but normally engine will start to leak every where ...to pop rear main seal its possible...

The vacuum situated on the brake booster hose near the brake bosster relied by a tee ... he goest trought the firewall where the driver is does it is exhaust flap ? ?? Im not 100% sure
