Where are you getting the info that he has metal shavings anywhere in his engine? It is either A: a loud injector, B: a loud boost solenoid, or C: some sort of vale train noise

Just replace all your valve guides and you'll be good to go... The smoking at idle and decel was a dead give away for valve guides...

I'd be willing to bet that this is an injector...

I'd be willing to bet that this is an injector issue... Fuel soaked carbon can look like oil, especially through a boroscope.

According to Terry this is probably because of the bt_dme decreasing quickly. He suggested setting FUA to 20 to "correct" this if it bothers you. I have the same closure at the same RPM but it does...
