It's not super uncommon for coils to be duds out of the box, I've seen that happen.

If your power goal is 450-500 or so with stock turbos I would suggest at minimum inlets.

The stock location inlets are a bit easier to install, relocation style...

If they are wet with fuel, the injector on that cylinder(s) is leaking and will need to be replaced.

Rough cold start could be HPFP or like you mentioned leaking injectors.

Let the car sit overnight & pull the plugs, if any are wet with fuel, those injectors will need to be replaced.

I'd be almost 100% positive they think you have an M3..if that was the case I would have made the same suggestion - Rod bearings / connecting rods as it's a known failure point on the S65/ can happen...
