FOL 60 helped a little but the hesitation/wobbles still happen when it's really cold out. Still, the 100% meth change has made a significant improvement - thanks for that tip. Sunday afternoon,...

BMS has essentially said two main things about the FF wire:
- FOL settings don't do a thing if you don't have the FF wire
- FF wire is for people doing more experimental things and analysis and is...

Log with 100% meth, 40 additive, FOL 10, FUA 0, no EWG harness connected.

Meth flow was not 100 for all runs but over 60 so probably close to full flow. I'll refill and do another log as well...

Thanks, will do, as soon as all this ice melts. It's been rough weather-wise in the mid-atlantic, tracetracks are all closed, and roads are slippery. :)

Quick update for everyone trying to help me out ;). Now running at 100% meth with FOL 10 and all other settings at defaults. Additive 40 on map 7 still hesitates but not as badly as it used to. I...

Hey, one more followup for now - do you have an idea what your *DME* boost targets ("DME BT") looked like before you added octane, and now, after you have? I would love to see some telling...

Man that’s a great story. Thanks for taking the time to write. It’s given me a few ideas. I have 93 octane so map 3 was always easy and I didn’t need additives. My first attempt at more power than...

Thanks for the response. :)

You have the same car as I, so I can’t explain it. Terry thinks I’m hitting up against a hard limit on 7. On 5, i get a little less boost but almost the same...

I have an M240 as well and I do see what appear to be fuel limiter issues on map 7. DME BT seems to wobble and cause the throttle to cut. Been working with Terry to diagnose. Switched to running Map...

Right - so what do you think is the difference between Map 5 and 7? Why does Map 7 trigger the limitations more readily? It seems people have theoretically pushed this engine much further, even...

Two logs attached, Map 5, with meth flowing. Feels smoother on Map 5, but definitely less absolute power than Map 7.

As before, 93 octane with 50/50 meth/water mix.

Thanks!

Meth mix is 50/50 water-meth. I have seen others on here going to 80 or even 100 percent meth but I did not know if this is related to my issue so I hadn’t yet taken that step.

Sure will do. BTW, here are the logs you had asked for (these were with default duty bias). Didn't know if you'd seen them. v9 and v11, additive 10, PID gain 5. Thanks for your help.

Meth Logs with Duty Bias 0

Been doing some experimentation with meth to try to eliminate my closures/oscillation when at 40 meth additive. Here are some logs with a duty bias of 0 for all RPMs, PID gain of 5, FUA 0. FOL is...

Noticed we were up to 11_T4 now... any changes from T1 to be aware of? I'm going to send in some Map 7 (meth + FF/EWG) logs. Map 7 feels very different on 11 than on 9. ;)

FUA is a differential between DME target and boost as observed by the DME. You can use it to help get boost closer to target, if you're missing, esp going over. There are better ways to do that,...

EWG can help correct overboost. Maybe that’s what you’re seeing? Try the FUA parameter, it seems to have a noticeable effect for my car when EWG is connected.

To add to this -
You’ve probably heard meth has cooling properties too (it does) but 50/50 is safer when you’re first starting out for many reasons. Mainly - water reduces the flammability. Water...
