Quick disconnect fittings for Can wires?
Hi everyone, I did a search for this topic, but couldn't find anything. Due to various reasons, I've had to remove and re-install my JB4 a few times over the past few weeks, and I'm getting a little bit tired of unwrapping and rewrapping that sticky tape around the wire bundle. I was curious to see if anyone has tried placing a quick disconnect fitting in the JB4 can wires between the module and the big wiring bundle, so it's just plug and play. It seems like a simple electrical connection, but I know it gets finnicky already if the connection isn't solid, so I wasn't sure if this would degrade the signal enough to cause issues https://showbox.tools/.
To be clear, I'm talking about a connector along the lines of this: https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1b.RTS...pg_220x220.jpg Thoughts? I figure if I can't find a lot of info where anyone has done this it might not be the best idea, but I wanted to check anyway. |
No, don't do this. Instead, upgrade from the CAN Wires which are not supported anylonger, to the OBD2 based solution which you can find here: https://burgertuning.com/products/jb...29178623098995
