What fuel and mods?

How many miles on car and how many on plugs/coils?

Do you have pwg or ewg? If ewg do you have the ewg connector?

Are you on the latest firmware?

Set duty bias to 50 across the board.

Post another log once firmware is confirmed latest and db settings are changed.

Terry has been helping me with the tune so I’ve already set it to 50 across the board, PID gain 20 and FF 20.

The first file is on the RACE map and it seemed to run nice but the next four are on PUMP and it seems like the fuel pressure is crashing like it was before I added MHD to the mix. Also the AFR drops to near zero when coming to a stop and does more “hunting” between 14.7 and 15.1

I don't see any issue with your fuel pump.

The problem i see is your timing is really pretty bad.

What fuel are you using?

Hiw old are your coils and plugs?

Do you know the gap of the plugs?

I’m using these plugs

NGK 97968 brand new 1000km on them
Coil packs are M2 coil packs with 20000km on them
Canadian pump gas sucks ass. I’ve tried 94 chevron and 91 shell

This is 91 shell as a lot of people up here say they get better results with it compared to chevron 94.

Youre not getting any misfire codes or jerking?

I'm wondering if there is something wrong with your jb4 connection and the timing just isn't being properly seen by the jb4.

Your timing is at 0 for multiple rpms, but boost, hpfp, throttle, trims, wgdc all look pretty normal. I'm having trouble believing that your fuel can be that bad.

Maybe double check all the jb4 connections from the obd2 plug to the jb4 are well seated.

Do you have any e85 around? Or a quality octane booster?

Could be your gap is a bit too wide and the spark is being blown out, but not to this extent.

Can you run a log on map 4? That may help.

Yeah its there on map 4 and 5.

Unless your coils are improperly seated and wiggling in their connection to the plugs, I think you must just have really really Sh itty gas.

The easiest and cheapest way to confirm would be to add a high quality octane booster to see if the issue disappears. Or if you have race gas anywhere near you, but that's probably more expensive.

Boostane or Octanium are good ones.

Does the car idle smoothly?

So I have this run but it is BEFORE I added the backend MHD flash. For this run I used an octane boost called “race gas” one bottle to the full tank of chevron 94. Canadian gas sucks in comparison to go old America petrol lol

That's probably the best run, timing wise, you've posted. Still some junk, but better than the others.

Hpfp needs a smidgen of help for that amount of boost, but otherwise looks normal.

I would see about buying a meth kit. I think that would check all the boxes for getting your car running how it seems your asking for it to run. Easiest and cheapest.

You could keep running octane booster but that will get expensive quick. You will need more than just the 1 bottle you added for that run.

You are majorly octane deficient and if you want to keep the boost up as high as you've been attempting you would benefit from a bit of extra fuel as well.

So when you say the fuel pump needs a bit of help what exactly does that mean? I can add some e85 to the mix. If I make it e10 that should take care of the octane level problem. Do you think my HPFP is running fine based on what you can see?

Hpfp seems functionally just fine. Just that in the last log where you were hitting the highest boost, your fuel pressure was dropping down a little. Likely easily solved by increasing your fol a little.

Not suggesting you do that now since that was a different flash and different fuel. As your system is now, there is no issue with fuel pressure.

Didn't realize you had e85 available thats why I suggested meth. If that is a viable option that would certainly help a lot. I would start with mixing in 3 gallons into a full tank of 94 or whatever your best pump is, and take a couple logs to see what adjustments can be made.

What are your goals for the car? Are you just trying to get some clean map 2 or map 5 settings or are you trying for more than that?

Okay so blend an e30 and go from there. Got it. As for goals I plan on adding a FMIC in the future and then pretty much saying it’s done and focusing on other mods. I’d like to get a nice amount of power but keeping the car nice as a daily. Not trying to win highest HP n55 lol. Basically just to get the power I can get out of the car with the mods it has. If it gets a good running map 2 im perfectly happy with it!

If I run an e30 I assume the setting car be modified on map 6 to allow for it to run well in case I can’t get e85 at the time and need to set back down?

You wouldn't need map 6.

You would just put it down to map 1 or honestly map 4 with your fuel being so bad.

If it were me I would also try a narrower gap on your plugs. Something like .026. It may help or it may not, but I think it's worth trying.

Both had major drops in timing. Maybe a little less bad with the pump flash.

It may be that the race run "felt" better. That may be due to timing, when not dropped, was more aggressive and created better power.

However, that is too aggressive for your current octane and would not be advised.

One you get your e30 in that may change.

I added some ethanol and made an e20 blend. Trying not to hammer on the HPFP for now and see what this does. For the map 2 run the traction control kicked in but I posted it anyways. Thanks!

Terry also asked that I change open loop to 0 so that’s been done

Much improved.

Timing could still use a bit of work, but definitely the best you have done so far.

I think going for e30 would be of benefit and your hpfp would be fine.

Tried out map 5 so here it is. Once this tank is gone I’ll do an e30 mix. Call me nervous lol

Will adding the EWG controller be of any help? It arrives tomorrow lol

Should I stick with this or try RACE map 1?

Ewg connector will allow you to hit higher boost for sure.

Youre still getting some timing retard so I would stick with the pump flash with your current ethanol mix. Once you up the octane some more, then you can probably go to the race flash.

What exactly are you nervous about?

Never tuned a car before so just the reliability. Not a daily driver tho as I’m building a Jeep atm too. I’m just worried about biting out the HPFP as the wife will kill me! Hahaha
