535i 6AT > 6MT Parts list

I have been working on a parts list for some time now and have it just about finalized with prices for all parts needed. *This only applies to an 08 535i rwd* I highlighted on the diagram what parts are being replaced and or needed. The parts not highlighted are either not needed or will be re-used from the car. Following the diagrams will be the parts associated in an ECS shopping cart for part number reference and brand reference. I do have questions and will ask throughout the pictures. I have a page on Facebook called "RyaN54k" So if you are having issues with pictures here check them out there....

I will make each section a new post in the thread for easier reference. So please be patient before posting as this will take a few hours to post.

TRANSMISSION

What parts would you guys suggest replacing? I did not plan on replacing any parts from one of the diagram. Flywheel will be M-Factory.

Driveshaft

The manual driveshaft is 4mm longer than the auto driveshaft. Can I use my auto driveshaft? The bolts were all cross-referenced back to the auto so no bolts needed.

Pedals & Lines & Clutch

I will use 550i clutch for now, but this all depends on how much I can save sourcing parts.

I think that is it. This does only reference Genuine BMW. Please understand I may use Febi, Lemforder, Meyle, Etc to lower cost. I may also buy upgraded bushings and parts if I can make sense of it. This is going to be fun!!!

Great thread, definitely keep us updated on the progress - with pics :)

I may have found a solution to the driveshaft issue.! and maybe a way for us to better interchange driveshaft parts. Let me know what you think.

The manual driveshaft is 4mm longer according to realoem

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/64...E=w631-h580-no

Now...If you look at the broken down parts, part #12 has a washer designated for manual or auto. The manual is 40mm and the auto is 36mm. Does this account for the 4mm difference? *Note* par #'s 8 & 10 also designate manual or auto....

What do you guys think? IS this washer the 4mm difference?

rkreimer10 03-01-2018 09:50 PM

The washer is not the difference, it is a different driveshaft all together. follow my build thread for updates as I have dramatically cut this list and the cost. Looking to have this completed for just under $2500.
