F10 M5 w/code 120908

2 Attachment(s)
BCM rev2 board recently installed but everything was or at least looked like fine.

Any input if it's JB4 related?

Is there a description of the code beside it? From what I see in the logs map 1 and 3 both look very healthy to me. What fuel are you using?

Exo Performance 09-18-2018 08:13 AM

94 Octane

Fault 120908: Charging pressure control2: Switch-off, pressure build-up blocked

Exo Performance 09-18-2018 10:33 AM

Just came back from a little road test... This time no code but the JB4 revert back to Map 4...

Terry @ BMS 09-18-2018 08:12 PM

120908 just means boost was shut off in a bank due to a fault appearing. I don't see any issue in the log either. Log of it going to map4 so we can see why it changed over?

Here is the Logs on map 1 reverting to map 4 with the same code as in map 3... Code 120908 with a reduced power in dash message...

Here is some logs in map 4. Fault is still present.

Please review and advise

Terry @ BMS 09-27-2018 08:15 AM

Generally seems normal. Map0 runs? Does code come up on map0?

Exo Performance 09-27-2018 08:22 AM

Didn't try Map 0 though it was the same as map 4 at exception of logging capabilities...

Just wondering if and i really mean IF as i'm pretty sure they are correct but if the wastegate solenoid wire are inversed would it cause an issue like this? Even in Map 0 or Map 4 ?

Terry @ BMS 09-27-2018 10:01 AM

It's actually different. Log map0 also next.

If the wires were inverted I have a setting that changes that on the software. So far it seems OK though.

Here is the logs on Map 0. Same Issue

Exo Performance 09-28-2018 10:13 AM

Now thinking we should remove it to see if the issue is still present without the JB4...

Terry @ BMS 09-29-2018 09:11 AM

Can't hurt, at least put boost connections under intercooler to stock as that is generally where problems crop up if they are going to.

Exo Performance 10-01-2018 11:34 AM

JB4 removed issue is gone...

Please get back to us as soon as possible

Terry @ BMS 10-01-2018 02:54 PM

When installing first step is to install TMAP and OBDII, and then once you know that's all good only then introduce the BCM connections.

So just removing the JB4 doesn't really tell us what we need to know.

Exo Performance 10-01-2018 06:54 PM

That would have been good to know before we remove everything :(

We will re install the JB4 tommorrow without the BCM...

What if everything is fine without the bcm connector ?

Just an observation - isn't "ave_ign" supposed to show bank 2 boost for the S63TU and "boost" shows the bank 1 boost? That's how it is with my F10M5. On the various logs "ave_ign" shows very little to no boost ==> BCM issue?

I am running with the V1 board where the cylinder banks are not separately controlled as with the V2 board, I think that explains the above:).

Here is the new logs without the BCM solenoid connectors plugged...

Map 0, 1 , 3 and 4

Current Mods:
VRSF ******* ********
94 Octane
JB4 w/integrated BCM

Issue seems gone... What's next?

Terry @ BMS 10-03-2018 08:12 AM

Good.. One option is to enjoy the car as is. :) For pump gas should be running well.

On the now loose BCM plugs, check for a loose pin or connection that maybe wasn't making contact.

Exo Performance 10-03-2018 12:48 PM

To be honest we had better results with the BCM connected even with pump gas...

We also did all this based on Payam's recommendation going from V1 to V2 so it doesn't make sens to finally leave it that way...(https://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53416)

We did investigate connector for loose connection... Everything looked fine... BCM Male connector/terminal was angled but those were probably like this intentionally from day one...

So what's next?

Can you send pictures of your harness and where you connected on the Db25?

Here is the pictures as requested...

Payam @ BMS 10-09-2018 08:42 AM

All the wiring looks correct, I don't see any issues there.

Exo Performance 10-09-2018 09:09 AM

So if there is any issue with the wiring and it works without the BCM plugged there is an issue with the board... Isn't it?
