Install Guide here: http://www.n54tech.com/flash_files/audi_s4_install.pdf

Optional map changing, datalogging and updates are done using the BMS data cable or JB4 Mobile REV3 bluetooth kit.

Map guide as of v4 firmware:

Map0: Stock tuning, disable JB4
Map1: (default map) 2psi peak over stock
Map2: 3psi peak over stock
Map3: 4psi peak over stock
Map4: 5psi peak over stock
map5: 6psi peak over stock
Map7: Integrated WMI (water/meth) map, progressive control with boost increased as a function of fluid flow up to the user defined WMI additive.
Map8: Valet/Low Boost/Safety map. Runs 25% less boost than stock.

Dragy results:
10.8s all stock on JB4+E30: N54Tech.com - International Turbo Racing Discussion - View Single Post - JB4 for 2018+ AUDI RS3 TTRS

Firmware:

JB4_AUDI_TTRS_5:

1) Adjusted map5 to target up to 7.5psi over stock, for those running E30 or unleaded race gas who want to push things a bit. Results in around 22psi in most situations.
2) Adjusted shift boost reduction logic to further reduce boost spikes during shifts. Default setting is shift reduction = 50. A higher value will reduce boost more during shifts and a lower value less.
3) Minor adjustments to boost ramp in to improve operation under boost limiting/loss of traction situations.
4) Added support for low fuel pressure hardwire connection to monitor and rescale, allowing some fuel trim reduction in heavy E85 mixtures. Requires harness addition so is just under testing for specific cars for now.

JB4_AUDI_TTRS_4_T3:

1) Various minor map and tuning revisions.

JB4_AUDI_TTRS_3:

1) Revised boost targets per map
2) Added direct boost control logic allowing dramatically more boost than is possible previously. Enabling this unique feature requires purchasing the optional BCM module.
3) Revised logging channels to include high fuel pressure on a scale of 0-50 = 0-3000psi.
4) Revised logging channels to add road speed
5) Added in over boost and lean-run JB4 safety systems. If boost exceeds user adjustable "boost safety" setting for more than 1 second the JB4 will switch to map0 (disabled). If AFR goes leaner than 15:1 at full throttle for more than 1 second the JB4 will switch to map0 (disabled). More advanced user adjustable safety systems including the ability to failsafe to less boost than stock (for flashed cars) is under development.

JB4_SENT_AUDI_RS3_1:

1) Adjusted warm up temperature safety to avoid bug with it kicking in when car is heated up.
2) Adjusted cyl 2-5 logging parameters so they show much higher values, to make boost/octane evaluations easier.
3) Created a firmware split so "S4" firmware will be used for all six cylinder models, and "RS3" firmware for all five cylinder models.

FutureUseD Bit Settings as of v3 firmware:

Bit0:
Bit1:
Bit2:
Bit3:
Bit4: Turn on to disable JB4 passive safety systems (over boost safety, lean run safety)
Bit5: Turn on to disable extended Audi logging channels (knock 2-5, dme bt, ecu_psi, fp_h, gear). Disabling these channels doubles the sampling speed of the primary channels.
Bit6:
Bit7:

Default BCM settings:

Attachment 83100
Attachment 83101

On an RS3 with a big turbo and street tires, it might need it

Don't worry it works nicely. :)

Me too! We've got some development to go on the RS3, and you're just the guy to data log it for it lol. :burnrubber:

JB4 for 2018+ AUDI RS3 & TTRS

Tried to split the RS3 posts from the S4 thread in to this one and they got bit scrambled, photos deleted. Oh well. Use this thread for RS3/TTRS discussion going forward. :)

I think that's grounds for BMS firing you. Photos are back up.

Got any RS3 raw csv logs for us to look at? Or at least a really detailed screenshot of a good pull? :)

Instead here is one of a bad pull in map 3 on 90. We busy scaling the timing adaption at the moment on the logs so we giving our own car a beating.
This will give the guys some insight on the R&D we do.

Here is a log off a flashed one, who will be using the JB4 for fine tuning, logging, and running WMI. All of the JB4 maps are currently additive based. So he's adding a couple PSI over "stock" here.

Bullitt1841 12-09-2018 09:40 AM

AFR seems pretty good on this engine platform. What's the highest E85 mixture we can run with JB4 only?

Terry @ BMS 12-09-2018 10:31 AM

Still a work in progress on the RS3, need to get fuel control working. We have it active on the S4.

Bullitt1841 12-09-2018 11:02 AM

What about 1-2 gallons per tank, for now? Our 91 is so bad here.

Terry @ BMS 12-09-2018 11:18 AM

Should be fine, knowing you, we'll get logs both ways. :)

On the RS3 the big things we need to get done to really be competitive with the flash tuners:

1) Fuel control active
2) Wastegate control active

Of course, the flash tuners can never compete with the JB4's ability to remove the tuner without a trace. :)

Bullitt1841 12-09-2018 11:25 AM

Awesome. Launch control is so bad ass with this car. I could never launch this hard with my B58, even with launch control and sticky tires. Even with our 91, this thing just pulls all the way through 3rd gear.:burnrubber:

Terry @ BMS 12-09-2018 12:08 PM

Dragy it, let's see what you're doing stock. :)

Bullitt1841 12-09-2018 12:16 PM

I'm "supposed to be" breaking the engine and clutch in, ha ha. Did one launch control before I made the purchase just to be sure I wanted the car. Only had 100 miles at that point. Boy was it worth it.

Terry @ BMS 12-09-2018 06:46 PM

The S4 launches really well, it's a standard style automatic transmission which I prefer. Easy 1.80 60' times. Would be faster with more power. It just needs a bigger turbo to compete with the RS3/TTRS crowd.

Bullitt1841 12-10-2018 12:36 PM

I'm not really understanding the transmission and shift behavior on the car yet. When driving normally on city streets it upshifts very quickly from 1st to 2nd, but then hold 2nd very long, as well as the next couple gears. I'm using Dynamic mode only for now to vary the RPM's and break in the car. Also, the damn shifter is backwards for up and down shifts. Hopefully there is some flashing that can correct these annoyances.

What tune is the other customer running? Integrated Engineering looks legit. Obviously APR is well known. But they are owned by the same company as Dinan!

Its running a custom tune from a small tuner in Europe.

Jb4 ??

I have some newbie questions about the jb4 scene, just want to make sure Iím not misunderstanding anything.

I was looking at the other rs3 thread which said there were still issues being sorted for the Rs3 before it becomes available. Can I assume that this thread here implies the issues have been sorted and it is now on sale?

Also from what I read the jb4 unit is the same hardware for s4 and RS3, hence why all the documentation refers to S4?

I am confused about the order link as it makes no mention of Rs3. If you order on the supplied link how do you specify the RS3 code.?

Lastly are there any instal pics which show where the sensor connectors are located under the bonnet.

Look forward to your advice.
