Hey guys,

This is the central post for all n63/n63tu/s63/s63tu Stage1 tuning information.

Download the install guide here.

Order the Stage1 tune here: http://www.burgertuning.com/N63_Jb_B...nce_Tuner.html

Note using a BMS DATA cable and JB4 interface you can lower Stage1 boost from the default 3psi but not raise it.

Customer's s63tu Stage1 dyno w/ exhaust, K&N filters, 93 octane:

http://www.burgertuning.com/images/dynos/631_whp.JPG

Had a customer send in this video of his BMS N63 Stage1 550 vs. a Dinan tuned 550. Cars were surprisingly evenly matched. We've seen some other customer dyno sheets that indicate the Dinan N63 tune despite it's grandiose claims puts out around 425whp to the ground on a dynojet on pump gas. Same as our Stage1 except they charge ~$2,500 for the tune. :character0264:

A few more customer provided videos of the Stage1 beating up on a Dinan tuned N63:

Finally! I knew this motor could benefit from Terry's tuning....

Abear 12-14-2012 01:52 PM

Very nice. Looks pretty strong. Im sure if you post this up in the proper places the N63 guys will be all over this! Looks to be pretty on par with Dinan too, 500 and 580 on stage 2 tune with Dinan. 15% loss is about right at your numbers.

Russell @ BMS 12-14-2012 02:02 PM

Ah...... more things to play with. :popcorn

5soko 12-14-2012 02:59 PM

I was looking into this car once!! Thanks great!
That's some good power with a little bit of tuning! Nice Terry!

GetSomeE92 12-14-2012 03:29 PM

Very cool.

NICKTENN 12-14-2012 03:38 PM

That year N63 was rated at 400HP (450TQ) from BMW. So the numbers are even more impressive!

sfvalley335i 12-14-2012 09:05 PM

damn barely fits on the rollers....

psmitty95 12-15-2012 09:16 AM

This is awesome! I think in the past the only tunes available for the 750's were Dinan which is so expensive... I'm sure you would get a bunch of interest if a tune was released

Terry @ BMS 12-15-2012 11:01 AM

It's a great engine with a lot of potential. Instant torque everywhere. I only wish it was in a lighter weight platform like a 1 series or M3. This 750 is a tank.

Bimmerocious 12-15-2012 11:12 AM

Weee.
We got an M5 here in town dying for a tune and a bump in power.

For the record, I was the first to suggest this...

Glad to see you tackle this market Terry.

easy2speed 12-15-2012 12:58 PM

Finally. I can finally get a 550i for a daily.

Acknowledgement that it was a good idea. Cookies are cool too.

bigdaddycain 12-15-2012 03:38 PM

I think about a thousound other people had the same exact idea when BMW announced that they were using a twin turbo V8 instead of a NA V8.....

I think you may not be aware of discussions between Terry and I regarding this platform and BMS that took place.

Regardless, very cool to see them in this market.

Yup, the new ones have been bumped up from 400hp/450tq to 445hp/480tq straight from the factory.

Terry @ BMS 12-15-2012 10:52 PM

If anyone local has a new 750i or 550i and can drop it off for a day or two, I'll send it home with a tune and dyno. :)

I know a guy who used to have a tuned 335i, now he has a 400hp 550i....Or do you mean you want to look at the 2013 445hp version?

Looking for someone with the 445hp version so I can dyno test it, measure the boost/advance/afr levels, etc, to ensure the tune works properly for it. Which I expect it will.

jb's335 12-16-2012 10:06 AM

When can we buy? If you were on the east coast you would have a 650 in the shop ASAP...lol

335iMspizzle 12-16-2012 08:51 PM

Hey Terry, remember me ? =], I got a 2012 650i new one with the same motor, when can I get this tune ?

Terry @ BMS 12-16-2012 09:19 PM

We're looking for BETA testers now so just email me. :)
