This might sound really dumb but just for my knowledge.. In the install video I have the JB4 unit on the other side, so driver side upper right hand corner, does it matter which sensor we plug the JB4 sensors into or is it reversible? Hopefully that makes sense, thanks

Mr GT2 07-30-2018 07:33 AM

How's it going are the kits ready for sell yet.

JB4_KIA_3_T2:

1) Added map4, valet map, which runs around half as much boost as stock. Perfect for when your "friends" borrow the car or when you want to resist the urge to waste fuel.
2) Minor boost target adjustments to all maps based on our latest dyno testing.
3) Added in logic for our new fuel control system which allows the JB4 to directly alter the air/fuel ratio when also equipped with add-on fuel wires. Currently interface is programmed so that under fuel enrichment by RPM you enter 100 to make the AFR target 1pt leaner than stock, for example. Values of 0 mean do not change AFR in this range. Do not change these settings unless also adding in the fuel wires or your AFR reading in JB4 logs will be inaccurate. Suggested settings are as follows. We currently limit each value to no more than 1pt leaner than stock (value of 100) for evaluation. On the dyno we found AFR leaner than around 11.2:1 at higher RPM resulted in no additional power gain.

Was able to sneak out for a couple 1/4 mile test runs on the new Stinger JB4 v3 firmware with fuel control. Test car is 100% stock with around 30% E85 fuel and Denso spark plugs. Weather in the mid 70s. Running our new pretty aggressive map5.

Very pleased with the result! We'll be working on releasing the fuel wires this week and then once done we've got some additional tuning ideas to try to break down deeper in to the 12s. :)

Man that thing is fast----

Fuel wires added!!

Alright!
1. The new firmware... wow. I could be wrong but running the same map 2... my car feels quicker, am I wrong to assume that Terry?
2. The controls “do not touch” on the bottom, i opened one up, didn’t change anything and just closed it BUT just con curiosity... what exactly is that stuff? I’m still learning about this stuff so
3. Wires are ordered figured I’d say it again because I’m excited

Where do you see the "do not touch"?

RandallK 07-30-2018 06:30 PM

Me likey the new map 3... car is running great

stingerGT 07-31-2018 04:03 AM

Fuel control wires ordered! Is the fuel control affected at all by other mods? i.e. intake and exhaust? Or should we still use the same setting you posted above in post #303 to lean it out by 1 point in the upper RPMs?

Itís in developer options under settings in the app is what they arenít saying.

KLR STINGER 07-31-2018 07:58 AM

Great news! Ordered nad looking forward to seeing what this does with intakes and **'s already on the car.

Mr GT2 07-31-2018 08:11 AM

Ok so just to be clear we can run the new firmware without the fuel wires? And when I do get my fuel wires do I have to change any settings?

Terry @ BMS 07-31-2018 08:14 AM

Yes you can run the firmware without the fuel wires. And if/when adding the wires you'll make the "fuel bias" setting changes detailed in the first post.

Yea, don't touch. I don't even know what to do there LOL. That's Donnie and his specialty

Looked arpund and cant seem to find any issues, i may take everything off and c what happens, and the car seems to run just fine

after testing the stock, the HKS M45iL and the denso's i have found the sputtering and issues all happen on the stock and on the M45il but not n the denso's unless on anything above map2. i think the m45iL are one step too cold and that could be causing some of the issue of sputter. just wanted to share what i have noticed with the plugs and JB4

RandallK 08-01-2018 01:56 PM

I did the 40il as a precaution for this very reason

The air/fuel ratio has a huge effect on the "stuttering" issue.. So be sure to evaluate them with the fuel wires in place before making any plug changes if you have a stuttering issue.

BTW here a launch log from the run, if anyone is curious how the data side of "launch mode" looks like.

It's like trying not to let you build boost.

KLR STINGER 08-02-2018 01:16 PM

yes, thats serious TM intervening. Need a flash tune correction for this.

The "launch mode" limits boost to 1-2psi. :brokenheart:

RandallK 08-02-2018 04:20 PM

How else where they going to build a GT car that has a 100k warranty?

Terry @ BMS 08-02-2018 04:21 PM

You'd think they'd start with decent spark plugs... Local guy tells me they get plenty of claims on plugs/coils on 100% stock cars. =/
