Got all mine from Rock Auto

Nniftyfour 06-16-2015 03:00 PM

The ones from Rock Auto are not OEM they are rebuilt and likely are rebuilt recalled injectors. They are rebuilt by an American 3rd party company. There has been a few hardware changes to the injectors over time with the most recent just last year.

It is not proven that these are the old recalled injectors but it is the most likely explanation. I'd steer clear of them.

The FJ1050 are rebuilt? Proof? Why are they -12 revision then?

I got a set of -12 revision. Running full e85 all day 750+whp. Rockauto love it.

Yup. 665$ is only for 3 injectors not all 6.

The injectors RockAuto sells are made in the same factory as OEM BMW injectors. They are 100% identical. They are not used or refurbished. They are cheaper simply because they do not have the "BMW tax" on them. There was another thread where a person contacted the company and confirmed tall of this information.

I replaced all of my injectors with ones from RockAuto. They were -12 index and have a 3 year/36000 mile warranty. OEM injectors have no warranty. Time will tell how long they last, but so far so good! They cured my rough cold start, rough warm idle, and consistent code 2E91.

I sent an email to RockAuto and this was their response

"The fuel injectors, as with all other parts on our website that are not listed otherwise, are new. If it has a core charge, it will be rebuilt. They are aftermarket parts (not OEM), but meet OE standards. To see more details regarding the parts, you can click on the "Info" button next to the part number to get that part's spec, warranty, and manufacturer information."

This is great news. Thanks for sharing ferocity/Impac

I am willing to bet any new aftermarket injector is going to be the same thing you will get from bmw. They will even have the bmw stampings.

I just recieved mine today from RockAuto all Index12 i will be installing them sometime this week

m4xbmw7 08-26-2015 03:05 PM

Thanks fellas
I currently have one bad injector index 10, so i figured why not change all 6 since the price is right eh ?

rooringhusky 08-26-2015 04:07 PM

Have gotten tons of older Index 11 from Rock Auto (along with Index 12). They are not always the latest revision and new. They have sent me used injectors in the past to add icing on the cake.

I just ordered a batch this week and 4x were Index 12, 2x were Index 11 and they came in 4 different types of packaging! There is never any consistency with this place.

ferocity02 08-26-2015 04:15 PM

Mine are doing well but I only have about 2000 miles on them, currently running E40 and around 21psi.

They have a 3 year / 36000 mile warranty too!

Optigrab 08-26-2015 04:17 PM

has anyone sent their injectors out to get rebuilt?

Impac 08-26-2015 04:19 PM

Dumb question do i take off the cap thats on the tip of the injector or at least it looks like a cap do i take that off befor install or just install the decoupler and install the injector?

treehouse 08-26-2015 05:04 PM

Yes take cap off... there are some good guides. Make sure to code them afterwards.

JazRedGT 08-26-2015 05:17 PM

Don't take the cap off until you are ready to insert the new injector.

Impac 08-26-2015 05:46 PM

Thank you for quick response
