There was a fix done to the reading of the ECU PSI.

Thanks George. I updated to 8_8 and ECU boost readings look correct now. I went to log some runs with the new firmware and found less hesitation than before but threw two codes: 3BEF (boost pressure regulation not reached) I threw this 3 times; the second code happened once 3AD2 (fuel rail pressure low). Any recommendations? :shrug

Edit: this happened immediately upon starting to drive and when I switched back to Map 0 as well when running Map6 and Map3

Drop FOL to 45 and see if you get 3ad2. Sometimes its coupled with 3bef.

EPC light module a failure

Hi all been getting the boost control a code. I have a JB4 and apr catted down pipe

I let the car warm up, shut down a few minutes and drive off, all ok until the next restart.

When the light comes on it’s right around 3000 rpm consistently.

I’ve read that the only solution may be turbo replacement, the car pulls perfectly when all is ok so it doesn’t seem like it’s actually bad. Can the waste gate be replaced independently? Can the JB4 be causing this since I did a firmware upgrade?

Any ideas?

What is the exact code you getting when read using the JB4?

I dropped FOL to 45. I didn’t get 3AD2 at all today but got 3BEF both times I started the car today before starting to drive... however, I cleared the code and it didn’t come back during both of my commutes. I did some pulls and the car held boost nicely (none of the wavering boost that occurred when I was getting 3BEF while driving). I also dropped my max boost to 5.5, from 6.5.

Any insight on what 3BEF can mean for the car and why it would only come on during startup, but not come back once I cleared it? My only thought is that I was trying for too much boost for spirited driving and how hot it was yesterday (heat soak)? :shrug

Should I be concerned with 3BEF on startup?
Edit: I have not gotten a Check Engine Light, only the code through the JB4 mobile app

Hi,

It is not a concern. We going to check on our side if there is a possibility the JB4 is not getting powered up fast enough or something else is at play.

Danthony, those faults are:
3A41- overboost, reduce boost
3B62- turbo actuator stuck

What map are you running? If custom map 6 posting or sending George your values along with a log of the .csv file will allow him to help you more if he has some background on those faults. His email is george@burgertuning.com if you have trouble with posting anything. He is super responsive to emails. Always within 24-48 hours (give him the weekend tho!).

Thanks. Right now Iím on map 1. Actuator stuck does make sense.

So I'm not getting any readings on my app today except boost. The car hasn't been driven in a while due to Covid and had to get a new battery as well. Any idea if it's a firmware, app, or Bluetooth module issue? Running latest firmware from February or so on 2014 Jetta gli gen 2

If there is no data it usually is a issue with the OBD cable or there is one setting that the GLI needs.
Go to the Bits whilst connected next to Options and turn on bit0 and 1 and hit the green save there after. Lock the car for a while so ECU and JB4 can power down and see if it rectifies it.

Hi Guys,

Wonder if anyone can shed some light for me here..

Stock Audi S3 8v 2018 7 speed DSG with 99ron (US 93 equivalent) JB4 map 4

I'm running Map 4 on 8_6_T3 - I've a good off the line mark at 3.9 seconds and a 1/4 mile at 12.3, however in 3rd and fourth if feels as though the car is pulling power. I hadn't changed any parameters but my fuel bias was on 0 across the board - it was suggested to me that I should be on 100 fuel bias across but the car doesn't feel anywhere near as fast?

Here are my logs;

100 Fuel bias
https://prnt.sc/sx8t6y

0 fuel bias
https://prnt.sc/sx8u2a

40 fuel bias
https://prnt.sc/sx8uk6

1/4 mile
https://prnt.sc/sx8v3r

0-60
https://prnt.sc/sx8vis

Any ideas what I should be doing to smoothen this out? on 0 fuel bias the car feels like it charges until 3rd and 4th when it feels like its retarding ignition, but with 100 bias the car just doesnt feel as lively?

Any help would be muchly appreciated!

Can you email the csv files to george@burgertuning.com.

At 100 fuel bias the JB4 is changing the AFR levels to the maximum. Richer AFR will cost some power vs leaner but once you start getting into the higher gears the cooling advantage of cylinder temps of a richer AFR is needed.

Woza S3 06-10-2020 08:04 AM

Thanks George! really appreciate this - just sent them over :)

Hi buddy,
That is a very good time 0-100, did u run the street or the track?

Which tyre brand do have fitted ? And psi or bar pressure are they inflated?

Woza S3 06-10-2020 08:19 AM

Thanks! This is on the street with Michelin Pilot sport 4 tyres (18inch wheels)

Tyre pressure is around 32psi front and 35 rear

Hallo bro, could u please post a screen shot of JB4 graph for ure 0-100 and 1/4 time?

I didn't get a log of those times - I'm back out tomorrow so I will do another pull and post it :)

No luck still getting nothing but boost reading on the app, both ecu boost and boost read the same number. No idea where to go at this point. Is there any chance my board went bad?

Check if OBD wire on small end is orientated correctly using the picture guide below.
