I actually live a little ways from base. From my driveway to the front gate is about 25 miles, and that's taking the Crosstown which is $3 in tolls each way. If you want to live in South Tampa near base, the houses get way steeper and older. More bang for your buck out here! I don't mind the drive either. They actually just broke ground on new houses down the block and literally across the street from me. Great builder. Let me know if you need some info!
