Not overly thrilled with the elbow placement... but still more testing to do! The "sound box" location may be better.

Just one other thought. Most of the airflow will follow the outside radius of the elbow. The inside radius will tend to be a relatively low velocity area. While the SB may prove to be a better injection point, that is not an option for 335i people. One more cent.

Really, what I need is a real thermocouple... I'm finding the IAT sensor leaves a lot to be desired.

What would be easier to interface with, a TC or RTD? Where are you thinking of locating it?

The location is the problem. Right now with the elbow mounting point I'm seeing only half the IAT improvement compared to the previous location, but a similar timing advance improvement. You wouldn't think ~12" of intake tract would make much difference. So either my previous temperature readings were skewed due to the spray being too close to the IAT sensor, or that is a vastly superior location for cooling. Relocating the nozzle to the short side of the elbow would be a good idea for flow if nothing else.

I agree there! I told you that thing is slow to react and may be a bit erratic at times.

I think you may be correct in that the spray, it self, may have been hitting the IAT sensor in the previous location.
I was not suggesting moving the nozzle to the inside bend of the elbow, but rather, to a location that points
the spray away from any walls of the elbow, if possible.
I am going on a business trip for about a month and will not even have access to the internet or email. Good luck with this project.

Right now the meth sprays in the directions of the green arrow. With the new placement (red dot) the spray would be towards the throttle body rather then toward the elbow itself.

The nozzle sprays straight down. Locating it to the short side of the bend (180 degrees from red dot) may be a little better.

I meant to draw it straight down but my MS paint skills aren't what they used to be.

Still not feeling the elbow mounting point. So I'm going to give a 7 gph and 10 gph nozzles a shot in the old location, and try to monitor timing advance per cylinder to look for any distribution issues.

For you 335i guys out there, buying a spare charge pipe may be the best solution.

Those people should learn to keep all their stock parts... Also you can have a bung welded into the aftermarket charge pipe and still be good to go... I have the stock charge pipe, the RR diverter pipe, and the AA bov charge pipe, i am going to put a bung for the nozzle in each one except for the stock...

You can mount it in your BOV pipe. Even easier!

STETT Performance is making a charge pipe specifically for meth. It will have two nozzle bungs welded in and you can choose between a diverter valve setup or a BOV setup. All hardware needed will be included.

You probably could get away with it, especially with a meth + small dry shot environment. But not sure how safe its going to be...

Snow is a good example of using a 2 nozzle setup. If your goal is to spray 550 ml/min, then you can spray the 375ml/min and a 175 ml/min. From what I understand thus far it allows a more precise spray and greater drivability. I am wondering if it operates in the same method as large fuel injectors in the sense that very large fuel injectors do a poor job when dumping small amounts of fuel.

T,
What is your Meth/Water Ratio? Wouldn't it help if you added more alcohol over water to evaporate faster?

***Please note, i am NOT FibreOptix, i am just selling all of FibreOptix's leftover stock at really good prices!!!***

I wanted to elaborate a bit more on the 2 nozzle setup. I am in the process of installing a Snow Performance Stage 3 Meth kit. The stage 3 controller allows the use of a two nozzle setup. The pump will feed a "T" connector that will then feed 2 nozzles of my choice. I am using a 375 ml/min nozzle and a 175 ml nozzle. The large 375 ml/min nozzle has a solenoid controlled by the stage 3 controller that will start to spray when the system enters "power mode". Because the controller can adjust the flow through the solenoid I have an incredible amount of control in when I want to spray 100% meth. This to me seems the way to go.

Right now 75/25, but I ordered a bunch of 50/50 mix for testing. My new nozzles came in as well, so hope to find some time tomorrow or this weekend to test them.
