Well, it could be both you and the car wash machine. You should never wash or dry your car in circular motions...just up/down and left/right. Good luck trying to make them pay to fix it. It will take a few hours worth of work using a decent buffer and polish to get rid of swirls. I doubt that they would fix it. A couple down the street from me with a black M5 dealt with Tom Bush Atlantic with a similar issue. I think they accidently scratched part of a door panel during a service visit. The couple took the car back and asked them to fix the scratch. They fixed the scratch, but added a butt load of swirls on the entire door panel. Last I heard, they were still fighting with the dealership over it. I guess the rule of thumb is to never let them wash your car.

Yeah a good friend of mine lives in Seattle as a service writer for a well known BMW mechanic and he says there are two things you should always do to make sure the car is in great hands.

1) Tip the service writer (Wash or something not mechanical needed)

2) Leave a 6 pack on the seat/floor so the tech has something to take home.

I'm really good with washing the car myself as my other cars didn't have swirls. I use to own a black SUV that I detailed myself and it looked fine. I honestly thought it was BMW's crappy paint job and it just looked like that from the beginning. Then again I had bought the car from Tom B Orange Park so it know about that huge car wash machine.

Yeah it will probably be impossible to get them to pay. I'll just have to eat it. When the swirls becomes really annoying, I'll work on removing them myself with my buffer. I've had some experience with swirl removal so it is not too bad. I've passed the stage where all my cars have to be perfectly clean and flawless. I'm sure Mike has wondered why my 3 sedan looks so nasty all the time.

So are we meeting up or what? Location? Time?

Ideas for the upcoming week:

1. Hit the dragstrip this week either Wednesday or Friday night down in Orlando Speedworld (http://www.speedworlddragway.com/) - I will most likely go Friday to get some nice numbers with the new 1.3 beta
2. Just a friendly meet this Saturday (March 21st): I provide free BT Professional scans (if you buy me a beer) and free beta JB3 updates for JB3 owners.
3. Be antisocial fools on N54 and just continue watching the silly posters on e90post dramatize everything.

Don't do that to me again Noon on Saturday is fine. Where we meeting? Weather for this Saturday is 10% chance of rain and highs are only in the upper 60s. What month is this again?

LOL You just want to smoke everyone with your 1er.

Where should we meet? The dreaded town center? Tinseltown? etc?

Tinseltown is worst than the Town Center! We could meet at the new Baymeadows/9A public park (I just discovered it few weeks ago, and yes, I feel like I'm going on a blind date with 2 random guys I met online) I don't know how hungry I will be because wifey will probably make me have breakfast with her, but we can still cruise to some restaurant and eat.

Should be good times...

Mike, I'm trying to get a few more to come out for some drag racing. Should be an interesting turnout if people keep their word.
