The car feels really ****ty until you get an alignment so make sure you plan for that. One other thing if you have after market wheels you will probably need to get your fenders rolled. The control arms move the wheels out about a half an inch and they might scrap. Overall I would say it was worth it, the car feels very planted and the feedback is great.
Good to know about the 1/2" wider stance in front. Had the snot rolled out of the rear fenders to fit late model 18" M3 wheels on my 335. Do you know if the rear M3 arms are wider?
