Single CM10, in the CPE chargepipe maybe 12" from the throttle body.

How much different does having the LSD make the driving experience? What kind of time differences do you see?

I was cutting 1.6 60' times before and after. If I could do it all over again I'd probably pass on it. I'm sure it's a must have for road racing but I use this car more like a drag car.

So awesome Terry! Definitely showing the potential for a relatively cheap and liveable low 11 second build from the N54 platforms.

Congrats to FFTEC for getting close with SIKHs car but... 11.2 and 125mph are still the N54 stock turbo records.

As soon as I read that thread over there, I knew that was wrong. I dropped some knowledge on them. That 11.3 @ 122mph is still ridiculous on stock turbos, though. Major respect.

Yes their car is running strong! At this level each small improvement takes a lot of effort. When it cools down I'll have to load some E85 in our white 135i, remove some more weight, and give it another go.

Hey Terry, when you say nt05 do you mean nt05R or just nt05's?

Just noticed that your bung location is 12" from throttle body too, that sounds like it's a lot closer than the Elbow which I assume would be 18" or so at least.

I'm thinking that maybe on a pre-09 n54 with the two piece chargepipe, you could just replace the chargepipe and not the elbow and have the bungs at the point where the chargepipe connects to the stock elbow and be fine then? Or is it better to just put them in the elbow and have them furthest away from the throttle body as possible?

Terry, since your running Meth with e85 next time are you doing a custom map or just load fuel & go? You think there could be a Meth/E85 map tune to be made? Good luck on hitting 10's

These runs were on NT05 as the daily driver 555r were almost down to the cords. Have a new set of 555r on now and its hooking much better on them again.

Anywhere 12-18" from the throttle gives similar performance in my testing. Just avoid the "right on the throttle body" locations.

Regarding the weight of 135 vs. 335, I've weighed both on the same scale in similar trim (both with k1s all around, full tanks of fuel, dps, etc), and while I don't recall the exact weights at the moment the 135 was around 120# lighter. But, the 135 has lighter non power seats, a smaller rear seat, etc, and when you start removing stuff it works out to around 110# lighter. There are also a lot of little factors that add up like how much fuel is used, the weight of the driver, exhaust mods, etc.

On another note while a 135 holds the edge in weight it's less aerodynamic so good traps are a bit harder and 60-130 times suffer.

If weight was a concern why is the stock axle back still on the car? Also at those power levels any chance those N55 mid pipes and axle back be replaced just to see how restrictive the stock muffler is vs a straight through (i'm also going by the impression that the aftermarket mid pipes are slightly larger).

Yes the car could be made a little quicker but I do a lot of hard runs tuning and like it quiet. It's definitely not an all out drag effort. If it was I'd remove the AC, carpet, front sway bar, replace the rotors/brakes with light weight ones, switch to skinnies up front, 15s out back, run a short dump tube, 10# battery, remove the airbags, etc.

Yeah the dyno part makes sense and I definitely like the fact that the car is streetable and similar to what somebody else would show up at the track with. I just thought it might be easier to swap the muffler than rip out the back seats unless they are always removed.

Wow pretty impressive that it was on normal nt05 tires and not the nt05r radials.

You might be able to pickup another 0.1 on proper radials and maybe do some crazy weight reduction/aero work to pickup another .1 and get 11 flat haha, that would be pretty sweet!

Oops, I keep making that mistake. They are the drag radial version of the tire. Might be called nt05r.
