Default JB4 Install Review - 02-11-2011, 04:05 PM

Just installed JB4 upgrade kit for the JB3 PNP. Wasn't that hard, took time and from hood open to close was about 2 hours. I have an older PNP, so I had to cut a wire, and made a plug with some electrical stuff I had lying around. All I can say is wow!

SOOO SMOOTH!! Its like butter! Map 1 feels faster than JB3 MAP3, & map 2 is just crazy! Love the ability of switching maps, and using a menu type system by barely moving my fingers from driving. Gauge hijacking is awesome, will def be using that when summer comes. With all my gauges flying around and hazards flashing at me I'm so excited I'm watching the dash, trying not to crash! Haha

Tried Map 2 (7ish from JB3), which I've never tried map7 on my old one. I have supporting mods plus 93 oct, and temp was 52 with dry roads today. I did a rolling start in 1st, and before my foot hit the floor (wot) my tires (255 Cont. Extreme DW) broke lose and spun up to redline. Dhamn! First time my tires spun since I've bought them (without trying).

Thanks BMS, just bought some wheel spacers... Mod bug bites hard...

Nice! I just spent the day personally modifying 10 mailed in harnesses. We're pretty backlogged on stuff but finally catching up. Which is a good thing as I'll be able to get back to tuning soon.

My dad is a electrical engineer, so I grew up making little fun things. But once you get the first wire out, it all makes sense. Just gotta push forward, don't be afraid to take it apart!

Only downside to this new system is that for warranty service with BMW, the removal/install JB4 will take more time. Features upside greatly outweigh this minor detour.

Oh BTW, waiting patiently for "Max Cool" mode....
Thanks for your efforts T.

I just got done with converting 8 harness on Friday also. People are definitely loving the JB4!
