That I don't know, I'm tuned and was told to raise it to 80. You can keep raising it but eventually you'll supposedly get a simple drivetrain error from what I was told by Steve at Fuel It on my logs thread.

What codes are you getting and what are you using to read them? I was getting unknown codes from the JB4, Carista was giving me misfire codes, all after I started pushing more boost. Going two step colder plugs and a .22 gap solved my misfire issue.

I can try the plugs. Which Tune do you have? and any chance you have the part number for the plugs?
I'll check the code today again, I dont remember at the moment.

I've got an S63, got the info from S63TU guys, so I'm not sure if the plugs are still applicable to you. I'm running an Halim/HCPerformance stage 2+ tune...alll mods are listed signature. I've gotten codes from vacuum leaks to misfires toand overboost, but each had a different fix so the codes will help.

No update, still a work in progress. Our machine shop has been tied up with higher volume projects so this got thrown on the back burner.

It ships with the latest firmware and should not be updated.

If you need installation help you can make a thread in the support area with photos and details.

New firmwares don't auto clear anymore since BMS is trying to gain emissions compliance. You can flash older firmwares (I don't know what other downsides come with older firmwares and/or options we'd specifically be losing as well) but I've been clearing them manually by doing option 1/2 from the steering wheel, which will take about 5 seconds before things react. It'll clear my reduced power warning light but boost still comes on slower than normal, so ultimately I still have to cycle the engine off and back on again.

On the N63 platform a huge hold up in performance is the lack of twin bank wastegate control on the JB4. At higher boost levels the banks go out of sync, and there is no mechanism to bring them back in sync. We may develop another N63 board to accommodate this issue if there is sufficient demand. But, it seems to be the N63 is fast approaching a dead platform.

Anyway open to persuasion.

Also, I'm no longer going to provide N63 tuning advice via email. We'll use this thread instead. So feel free to post your logs, info, and questions here, so they are all one spot.

Default Continued support - 11-02-2017, 05:18 AM

Personally, I would like to see continued development on the N63 platform. WIth 4 years on this model, and the model coming down in price in the used at market, I would think there would be more and more purchases of the car due to its large performance potential. Too bad there cant be a mass mailer via snail mail or email to all owners of N63 to advertise the ease of install and performance gains as there really isnít another choice for performance gains on our cars. Or would existing owners of the chip be willing to pay for upgrade/developement?

Mike

Question in here as you are no longer responding to emails. If taking a car on a long trip with Stage 2 beta installed, what is best? Unplugging unit from OBDII or setting it to map 0? NOt sure how much MPG increase can be obtained if not on the pedal versus lower map level or being disconnected.

I am having a great time with my 550. Probably another 5 years worth of fun!

Bit of a holdup for this platform is the difficulty of doing injection. There are no chargepipe options at all so every owner that wants to do injection has to kludge up their own solution. Makes it slow going.

M335, hahaha, yup. I have thought about this mod, but put it into the category of “kludge” mainly cause it’s not too user friendly. Not a lot of owners are going to be keen on this mod and if Terry, or any other supplier, were dependent on this mod to sell a product, they wouldn't sell more than a half dozen or so.

Nevertheless, I like it and I bet it works mighty fine!
