Sorry, I'm new to the forum and it looks like I initially posted this in the wrong place.

I have a 2014 X1 and just picked up a used JB4 from a former 3-series owner.

I went to the Burger Tuning website this morning and noticed there is a separate dropdown selection for the X1/Z4. Is there really a different X1 version or will the EWG one that I got work OK (my plans are to install it this weekend)?

Thanks!

I drive a N26 EWG 2013 328i if that helps.
So I derped and ordered the wrong obd2 cable, what I needed was the OBD2 cable + Retrofit kit that was +$10 more but I got the regular one.

That being said, is it possible for me to wire the regular OBD2 cable directly to the brown and green wires on my harness? There are 3 wires on the OBD2 cable (I cut the molex end off) so which exact wires do I wire to green/brown?

Is it not possible like that?

Do I just need to bite the bullet and order the $35 OBD2 kit?

LOL sorry if this is just a really dumb question, I'm just so close to being able to add this to my car. And also thanks to Ando at BMS support for answering my questions via email.

Hey bro,

Did you get this fixed? I have a friend who is running into the same issue. He has a 528i and I gave him the data cable. Were you able to get the steering controls turned on?

Please help me to solve the problem.

I install JB4 EWG on BMW X3 F25 LCI N20 2015. It's normally worked, and managed via data cable, but no reaction by pressing BC button. When I press and hold BC, nothing happens.

Thanks in advance.

2 Boost gauge on fuel, scaling in dash is 0 to boost safety setting
--Fuel empty mean 0psi,what does fuel full meaning?

It should be scaled by your boost safety. If boost safety is 20, that means full is 20 psi, half is 10 psi, etc.

It's just a bit over half when full throttle. Is the boost too low?

no if you interested for precise values. ie 19.5 or 10 rather an assumption of it may be 10 or it may be 11 etc.

The boost gauge on the dash is to give you an area of boost that you're in. It is pretty accurate though. However the best way is to get a data log to verify everything is working properly.

It's all plug and play. Install the Jb4 and enjoy on map 1. If you want to move further, it is best to post a log so we can advise you.

I load someone immediately, but Ando has already told me to bring boost safety to 24.
I wanted (after full setting) to install meth .. but I read that rods tend to thrown over 22 psi.. I accept advice

Delivered boost to 24 psi security.
Load log map 2. It does less turbo pressure but pushes well .. If there are other settings to get the best I'm happy.

I increased my boost safety to 32psi as I hit the limiter on 4-5th gears. With map7 I can get up to around 27psi.

Car is still running strong with no issues. 😁

Hi guys,

I bought a JB4 EWG with a friend. The JB4 was in his 328i, 2013, and run just petrol.

I pretend to install de JB4 in my 320i, 2013, ActiveFlex (petrol and ethanol).

Both cars are electronic wastegate.

My question is: to use de map 5, do I need to reprogram the JB4, update de firmware, reset or something like that? Or just plug it and the chip will work fine in my 320i?

I know that he was used to run map 6, who was specific for his car.

But the map 5 would by enough for me.

Thanks
