I have reflashed the latest MHD bef with the fixed torque settings and my car hasnt been misfiring anyway. Haven't really pushed it with high boost though.

I got a new one. I found a used one on ebay but it was ex usa so import tax etc, wasnt worth it.

Hey stoolz, thanks for the update.

Am considering the flywheel too and have a couple of garage options. Both non BMW but one has all ex BMW employees whereas the other doesn't.

The ex BMW did my PS2 and the other my Diff. No problems with either however, for the flywheel swop the ex BMW is nearly double the cost of what the other was quoting.

If I do this, I was going with the cheapest but am now not so sure?

I went to a local Facebook Bimmer club mechanic but
he has had no experience on our dct. I called the guys who did my clutches and they said there is nothing to it but he was still pretty spooked. Told my regular dyno guy the story and he's happy to do it . I can let you know any tricks involved ( if any ) but seems a straight forward job.

Thanks for the update. Is it a direct bolt on? Was hearing something regarding 6 and 8 bolt flywheels. How do you know which one is for your car?

I'm told it's direct bolt on. My original shop we're worried about aligning clutches but that's not right.
Pretty sure all us N55 guys are 6 bolt.

Granite66 - Early N54s are 8, late are 6 and all N55s should be 6. Check on RealOEM if you want to be 100% sure

Flywheel in!
Unfortunately my coolant lines to my turbo we're dead and ready to break from heat so now we are redoing those.
Installed the flywheel no dramas tho.

Good and bad news.
Ran half dozen runs in map 7 for 20hp gain over old flywheel.
Logs looked absolutely fantastic.
Pushed up to 24psi for a map 6 run and hit misfires.
Pretty sure its hardware and most likely the boost pipe connection between the turbo and intercooler.
Dropped back to map 7 and misfires continued.
Car going back up on the hoist next week to check it out.

Coolant lines were replaced from the water pipe and to the head. The boys welded on threaded fittings and got rid of the push on oem ones.

Dyno dynamics map 7 read 430hp which I believe is roughly 495hp on dynojet.

Were the misfires at 24psi random misfires or pin pointed at an issue? And at what boost did you misfire before new flywheel?
