Lightbulb E series N55 tmap ground damage - 01-20-2018, 04:43 PM

My ground is blown out on my ecu tmap circuit.
I found this out after removing jb4.
I have a friend who did the same thing and his ground is damaged as well.
What causes this?
I am purchasing a new ecu, I would like to not damage it if possible.
Cheers.

Shorting out the USB cable. There is a DIY fix for that or the DME ground trace can be repaired. You do not have to replace the DME.

Thanks Steve but this is E series and there was no shorting of usb cables to +.
I have another issue with my ecu which is why I am replacing it.
Something is wrong with my internal fueling circuit.
Somehow strangely I have incurred damage on both.
I have attempted to have my ecu repaired unsuccessfully.

I see...that kind of damage is usually cause from a short so I don't know that I would rule it out just because there isn't an exposed + battery terminal right by the ECU box like the F-Series.
