Default Bad o2 sensors throwing misfire codes? - 01-20-2018, 12:38 PM

My 335i has violent shaking on idle today, any anywhere from 1000pm to 3000rpm but I did not push it much higher than that.

Car is currently throwing these codes:

29CC - misfire several cylinder
29CE - misfire cylinder 2
29CF - misfire cylinder 3
29D1 - misfire cylinder 5
29E0 - mixture control
2E9F - oil condition sensor

I took the tune off, but that didn't take away the misfires. I then reset codes and now it's only throwing a cylinder 5 misfire code. Plugs have about 10k on them, half the coils were replaced a year ago.

Could these all be from the bad o2 sensor? How would I know which sensor is bad? I also bought the d/p fix wires after getting my d/p installed, but I haven't installed it yet. Would that help since it would then ignore the rear o2 sensor, which could be throwing the codes?

Mods: ********* d/p, vrsf intercooler, stage 2 tune (currently off)
Thanks for the help.

There was a tread were changing them out netted better fuel economy and a smoother running engine, they won't have any barring on a straight misfire. If your a/f ratio is way off, it may throw a code, look at a scammer and watch for inconsistency.

Should I do some MHD logs and post them here?

Misfires can have any number of reasons, but definitively can be O2's. I had misfires around 90k miles that went away after I did new sensors (primary only). I think I had also a jb4 lean safety around that time out of the blue which never came up again.

Agreed. You also must reset the adaptions when you change the O2's

Were you throwing 02 codes, or you changed them and it relieved it?

I got a 2C3E once that was maybe related, but not together with the misfires.
