Things are going well so we've decided to open up the testing pool: http://burgertuning.com/B48_B58_f_se...all_tuner.html

I also found a glitch on a burgertuning.

When you click on:
B48/B58 JB+ Quick Install BETA $199.00
link, it transfer you to a wrong item (which is JB+ But for N20, N26, N55)

To avoid this glitch you have to actually click on "item" picture than you will get the right JB+ for b48 b58 engine.

Just received my JB+ !!! Thank you Eric for prompt customer service, he helped me out immediately. (The post office messed up on a scanning of the package ! but everything went through)

Here is more pictures of installation:

Coupe 430i xdrive (B48) automatic transmission

Basically you don't need even to touch the plastic covers.

but here is closer look without covers

So I did a 30 min driving on sport mode (93 octane Shell V-Power). Do I like it ? I f***g love it
Totally another pull ! (with default 3.5psi !!!). The torque is much more "longer" and not in mid range but from the "begging to the end" you feel that strong pull very well !!!!
Now I walking around the car with a screw driver like a maniac :to convince myself try max 4.5

JB+ is the best $199 I spend it on my car.

Nice! Could use a few random install photos to finalize the installation guide. Feel free to post any you have in this thread.

Default Installed! - 03-01-2017, 08:10 PM

With a newborn baby, any type of "project" or fun is pretty much impossible. This JB+ was exactly what I was looking for as free time is pretty much non existent. This was so quick and easy to install, I was able to get this done while "taking tha garbage out". .

With pictures and all, this took about 15mins. Note this is also my 1st time really getting a good look under the hood. Again, newborn baby...

Unfortunately 15mins was all I had tonight, so I didn't get to go for a drive. Will go for a diaper run tomorrow and let you all know about the performance. Attached some pics in the meantime. Hope this helps.

With the 2016 B58, I had to take the cover off (just pops right up) and the TMAP sensor is the left (wider) sensor in the pic. Hope this helps.

Looks good! For the B58 I'd tuck it fully under the plastic engine cover.

Default N54 JB+ for B58? - 03-10-2017, 10:28 AM

Dumb question: can I use the JB+ for N54 on a B58? I would think not due to different turbocharging characteristics. Still have my JB+ after I sold my 335i, but now that I have a B58, I'd like to see if I can reuse it.

If the tune is not compatible, does BMS offer any trade-in and/or upgrade program? Would love to put the piggyback in good use... :burn rubber:

Received and installed JB+ today. Came set at about 12 o'clock, set it up to MAX before install.

Initial Impressions:
-Very noticeable gains in power, even here in hot South Florida (85F). Will Test again tomorrow morning (65F), assuming it will be even more noticeable.

-Definitely do a couple of high 2nd-3rd-4th gear pulls to get the system adapted. Noticed more boost after 2-3 pulls.

-You can hear the turbo spooling much sooner and to a much higher RPM

-Daily driving, as far as I can tell, will be unchanged. I will test highway cruising to see if MPG is affected at constant speed.

Cons:
-Requiring a small Philips head screwdriver & over torqued screws made changing the settings a headache.

-Set to MAX before first install and got a Drive Train Malfunction on first pull. Turned off the car, kept setting at MAX, have yet to get another DTM. I'm hoping this was because it didn't have time to adapt yet, if I get another I'll dial it down to ~4PSI. I've gotten 2 DTMs pre tune so I'm not too worried.

Overall:

The JB+ is exactly what I was looking for. Cheap, easy to install/remove, invisible and a very noticeable power increase. Would recommend you go out and get one.
