Question M3 wheels on e92 - 08-23-2009, 10:57 AM

Anyone know whether 18 inch M3 wheels will fit 335i e92 without any modification?

THANKS!

they will not. I tried fitting OEM 18" and the combined wider rim/tires with greater offsets made the rears rub against the wheel well lip, and the fronts rub on the plastic wheel well lining. Rolling the lip was not an option because the 335 doesnt have enough of a lip to roll. I test drove it a short distance anyway, and any turn or bump caused rubbing.

Vortex tuning and others sell aftermarket M3 wheels (style 240) for the 335i for about $800.

I thought OEMs might stick out to far, however, I am a little leary of aftermarkets. You own a set? Did you mean style 220, I am not aware of style 240?

Cheers!

I don't have M3 wheels, but I'm thinking of getting them when it comes time to replace my tires (which will be soon!).

Vortex Tuning and Richmann Motorsports carry them -about $800/set for 18" and $1,000 for 19". There are quality standards for wheels, but that is about all you have to go on - that, and word of mouth.

Hey Blast! How you been?

I have a set of Vortex Tuning 260M M3 18" reps on my car. They look slightly different from the UDSM version. The 260M is the euro 18" M3 wheel option. Here's what they look on my car:

is it the tires that would make the M3 wheels not fit a non m3 or is it the offsets also..

if it's anything like the M5 e60 and non m5 e60...the wheels fit..but the tires won't..so a direct swap won't work.....wonder if it's the same with the 3 series...

I have a set of 260Ms on my E90 and the wheels fit fine, its the rear tires that cause the rubbing which can easily be resolved by getting a lower profile tire... The E92 has even less space than the E90 hence the combination of a very aggressive offset with the PS2s wont work...

Just had to have the 260 wheels (off a '09 M3) on my e90. Many posts say it can't be done with the aggressive offset (especially w/ 265/40/18 PS2's that are 1" bigger in diameter than stock). VS Motorsport in Chicagoland was meticulous w/ the rolling rear fenders. No problem w/ fronts. Worked on the street and passed the real test at Putnam Park.

Default just put oem M3 19 inch wheels on my E 90 - 01-12-2010, 09:44 PM

Brought them to the local wheel and tire place and they put tires on that haven't rubbed yet. 19 x 9 in front 19 x 10 in back. I didn't think they would ever fit but with the lower profile tire they look awesome. 235/35 /19 in front 255/35/ 19 back. this is on a 335i no sport package. I think i have room to put sport springs on too, they are already here! Just waiting on my spring compression kit!

cant get my pics to post for some reason??

I'm not sure what the 19" OEM rear offset is, but I would put some masking tape on the inside of your fenders & head out at 40-50mph looking for some dips in the road. Then check the tape. I find it hard to believe they would work w/o fender rolling, but who'd of thunk the JB3 would get you all that HP for the price...

Most guys say it wont fit on the E92.

I believe the E90's have a little more room to spare tho. Which is assinine.
