When running a PI rail on the E series N55 keep in mind you'll have a little less slack in the intake piping. With the factory intake you probably need to look in to a longer aftermarket coupler... But, if you have a BMS intake the fix is really easy. Just remove the bracket holding the tube to the airbox and replace with a zip-tie between the MAF and fuel rail. This allows the intake to site 1/2" closer to the passenger side removing any unnecessary strain on the inlet connection.

I am looking for a bms controller for the n55. http://www.burgertuning.com/N54_seco...ctors_BMW.html
You can choose to just have the controller bought through this kit through the options but it is listed for the n54. Does anyone know if I just get the controller through that kit will it work on the n55?
Thanks

I just want add that you need to replace the PMW chip from the JB4 board so, shoot an email to Steve or Terry to get the new chip.

Hey guys/Terry

Where do I get the BMS N55 PI Controller from? I can only seem to find the N54 version on the BMS site - I've seen a few comments saying this will work but others saying it won't and that the controller needs to be N55 specific?

I emailed bms the same question and was responded that it will work on n55s as well

Thanks 135ilove,

Just had an email back from Terry confirming the N54 version can be used

Just wondering if anyone can help with a couple of other questions regarding how E content is measured and the use of meth with a BMS controller compared to the AIC6:-

* With the AIC6, E is measured via JB4 pin 16 using the meth field. The BMS controller uses pin 16, so the E input has to be read via pin 3 with FUA at 58 and uses the Duty C field. Does E content still get read OK via the JB4 mobile app if pin 3/duty C is used?
* As the AIC6 doesn't use pin 16, this is still available for meth. As the BMS controller does use pin 16 how do you use the BMS controller and meth?

Thanks

Pin 16 is only signal cable. The orange meth fsb wire is pump trigger cable. So the meth signal in log would be PI flow (and not meth). And meth flow you wont see anymore.

Thanks Peter Any thoughts on the JB4 Mobile app and whether it reads E content correctly if the sensor is via pin 3? Can't seem to find anything specific in the 'mobile' threads so may need to drop them an email.

Also, sorry to take a thread a little OT but, do you know anything about the M4 DMFW for the N55 DCTs (6 bolt version).

Unless I'm missing something, the latest I can see is that Pure had one and were sending specs/measurements etc to MFactory in order that they could produce some 'test' items?

It's a few weeks out of date but, I seem to remember MFactory posting that they were awaiting the above?

Don't want to take the thread of track so fee free to drop me a PM if you have any info

Do you need to reflash firmware after swapping this chip?

Exciting Times....getting PS2 next week with all the upgrades. Updated TMAP, ISO firmware and cut diode. Will be FBO, BMS Meth FSB and 3 gal Stealth.. I usually run E40 thereabouts with 93 from a brand seller.

JB4 ISO - no BEF (yet)

1. Is Stage 2 LPFP necessary for my future set up?

2. In my current set up, what log data would I review to see how much effort my current set up is doing to my LPFP. I see the values but not sure what is taxing my system? I have sent plenty of logs to Terry and was given the thumbs up.

Just looking for a little coaching....I'm not looking from going fast to super fast, but improving my daily driver. I'm not tracking or racing, but spirited driving now and then..... like when you are merging onto a highway and open it up.

@e36graduate

This is the port injection support thread. I'd recommend starting a thread in the N55 section to get your questions answered.

FYI, N55 doesn't have an LPFP sensor.

Seems like such an easy step but I can't find where to get db pin to slide into the harness? I thought I had one but it would only go half way. into the connector.

Where did everyone else get the DB pin to do the jb integration with the split second?

They are a normal d-sub pin but if you can't find one, email us and we'll send you out the proper connection that you can plug in to your Fuel-It! SS controller. If the female bullet connector has been cut off then let us know and we'll include a butt connector.
