Smile N54 TD03L-10T OEM Rebuilt CHRA's (for the DIY guys) - 11-16-2016, 05:38 PM

Hey guys,

Many of you may know we have been selling these as used take off's for many of years now. Despite selling quite possibly up to 1,000 of these to others all around the globe, we STILL have many units on hand SO decided it was time to put them to a good cause. We have had many folks request this service as well so it has been a long time coming to finally have the offering.

We started by having some custom "larger than TD04" Thrust Upgrade hardware made to adapt into the TD03 OEM turbos ensuring that these will be better than what they were new. The end result is a mega cheap new core CHRA for you all looking for a true better than OEM replacement but with standard performance, availability, AND budget in mind. As these cars are getting much cheaper they are also being purchased by the more mechanically inclined (or younger ambitious) types, so we do realize that budget and DIY is where it is going out there.

Ultimately what you get are 100% OEM MHI CHRA's with all new bearings, seals, clips, and significantly beefed up thrust hardware so you can transplant them into your old housings and be off without a hitch. But keep in mind that even though they are "Plug and Play" that this is still a cumbersome DIY so you should have some confidence and the tools necessary to tear into your own turbo and make the install. Our intention is to not offer these and then get pounded with support questions along the way, as such we are keeping the cost very low. We are simply trying to provide the part that you need to get back on the road as your OEM turbos take a dump, so please make sure you understand what you are doing before purchase.

The cost is $385 per set OR $200 per CHRA*
*if ordered individually you must specify front or rear
NO CORE CHARGE!
NOTE: We can add a Billet 10T compressor/Custom Bullet Nut for $75 PER UNIT as well.

All units are all VSR balanced to under .2g to 200k RPM and each unit will come with its own document.

If you are in the USA the cost will be $400 shipped for the set or $210 shipped per unit. Our paypal is rob.rbturbo@gmail.com and you can also email the same address with any questions (ie. international shipping quotes, etc).

Thanks,
Rob

These wheels are 100% stock. The internals are significantly upgraded over OEM though.

Soon will have other options to build upon this DIY theme (and beyond), but this offering will certainly be the cheapest.

Thanks,
Rob

This is pretty damn dirt cheap for the DIY guys, no doubt. We have several more budget kits, even offering better performance, on the horizon as well. - BUT this is by far the cheapest there could be.

We've been consistently selling 2+ sets of CHRA's per week as of late, and yet another week with 3 sets of OEM rebuild CHRA's shipping out. Should be knocking on 20 sets of these out there very soon now.

Oh and a couple DIY Stage 1 kits (TD03L 9-blade with 14T Billets) too...

For the billet 10T vs. the cast 10T? Doubt much gains worth making any fuss about. But billet nonetheless and an option for those who want it, at $75 per unit it's reasonable to entertain but if you'd rather spend it elsewhere it's all good do your thing. Ultimately if we didn't offer it someone would ask for it.

If you mean the Stage 1 offering- these will make quite a bit more power due to the 9 blade wheel and 14T (much larger) compressor. But these are a smidge more costly as well, and we would also highly recommend (or mandate) inlets with them too.

Thanks,
Rob

How much for stage 1? Or even stage 2 if possible. Any diy guides out there for this?

Attached is our 2017 RB Turbo N54 Turbocharger catalog. Please read all notes/options/accessories thoroughly. As for DIY guides perhaps someone will make one, haven't seen one yet.

Thanks,
Rob

Will the stage 1s still fit in the stock housing or will they need to be machined?

Correct me if I am wrong but you offer stock wheel size with cast blades and TD04 internals. And an option for the upgraded wheels for a small fee.

I guess what I'm asking is do you offer the stage 1 CHRA (which is different from the one CHRA mentioned above with the 10T wheel) for the DIY and does it require machining.

Stage 1's will fit in the OEM Turbofold without machining, but the compressor housing needs machined. So with the Stage 1 DIY setup the machined compressor housing is included and it is expected you send back your old compressor housings/CHRA's that you remove during this DIY process (thus there is a fully refundable core charge for all Stage 1's- DIY or complete). Obviously you will keep your old turbo folds and put the new Stage 1/Compressor and CHRA kit into it per your DIY, and of course address your own wastegate issues as you desire. OR just buy the complete Stage 1's and have no worries.

I have looked over the catalog. You sell the DIY RB "ONE" for 999$ and it comes with new compressor housings? If I bought some I would just have to send in my stock CHRAs and compressor housings correct?

We have a set of cartridge cosmetic "blems" that are perfectly fine however they were quite rusted from the donor set of turbos that are now refurbished. Even though they have been processed and cleaned, as you can see per the picture due to the severity of the surface imperfection (and in part of our OCD complex) we feel they are blems so feel they should be cheaper. Keep in mind this is ONLY cosmetic and has NO relevance to performance or reliability as INTERNALLY they are perfect- and quite frankly had we not said anything you may not even be concerned with them if purchased normally.

Anyway we will offer this set (and others as they may present themselves going forward) to the forums for $325 shipped to the USA for the set which is a $75 discount. If anyone is interested in this set please let me know.

Thanks,
Rob

EDIT: This "Blem'd" set has sold 3/1/17.
