I've never really enjoyed torsen or viscious type, from a racing point of view I suggest a locking clutch type 1.5 or 2 way; I've owned Nissans with different types of pumpkins.

Hi, can u confirm on which part number I need for my 2009 N54 E89 Z4?

I suppose my stock gear ratio would be 2.56, my question will be what if I replace it with your 3.08 or maybe 2.81?

Not more about saving fuel Nor high speed above 155mph, I'm looking at good 60ft & 1/4mile result. Pls advice, thanks.

Thanks
Andy

I would stick with the 2.56 due to ecu/shifting issues after changing ratios.

You have a welded diff though, so have a few options:

1) LSD only. You will need to get machining work done
2) LSD + Install Kit. No machining required
3) Fully rebuilt pumpkin. Direct swap

My LSD is on the way and looks to arrive tomorrow! So far the MFactory team has been an absolute pleasure to work with.
I will be putting together a DIY and review once done.

In the market for an LSD and I'm down to a Wavetrac or MFactory.
MFactory seems about $200 cheaper, but does this translate to a "lesser" LSD?

Hi, what's the cost for item 2 & item 3?

Any recommendation if I want to improve my 100-250kmh run timing? Any final ratio like 2.81 or 3.08 upgrade? There must be a reason why people change them right? I have Pure Stage 2 & almost all the FBO so top end power should be much better than stock so What's your Adv? Thanks

If DCT, I would recommend sticking to the 2.56

LSD is $999.95. Install Kit (new ring & pinion, shim kit and bolts) is $799.95

Rebuilt Pumpkin is $2199.95 + $500 refundable core fee

What happen if I get yr 2.81 final drive? If I don't want to have any down time does it mean I need your rebuild pumpkin & once fix I can send my stock to you for a $500 refund? So all in all is $2199.95-$500=$1699.95+$799(2.81 final drive) $2498.95 right?

$2199.95 + $500 refundable core fee i.e $2699.95

If you send back your old core within 30days, we will refund the $500 to you i.e Total you pay is $2199.95

We have pre-machined 2.81's on the shelf. No need to purchase an install kit.

Sounds good, question: how will the car react to 2.81 final gear? Any changes I need to make on the dme side & if yes how do I do it? Can I change my overall tyres diameter bigger from 265/35/18 rear to 275/35/19 to compensate the quickly & earlier shift into higher gear? Or will the DCT go crazy with different set up on the final gear(2.81)?

That is something you would need to ask a DCT owner who has changed to a different ratio unfortunately

Any DCT owner running a different final drive mind to share your experience?

What are the pros and cons running a higher final drive? From a 2.56 to a 2.81 or even higher?

So after reading I can see that Drexler is the only LSD manufactured in Germany?! I think I will go with that one unless people have had many bad experiences with that one?! For that price I hope it is the best around...

the M3 LSD works/serves it's purpose, but it is not really performance orientated (wasn't designed to be)
