Default N54 Loud Ttick from to injector line - 08-23-2017, 08:32 AM

Hi
So i ran out of options, and if u guys know what is tiking i would appreciate any help.

So bought this car from the auction with blown engine.
Replaced the engine and had ticking sound, tonns of missfires, car would not want to start, long story short, i bought another engine, changed the previous one, and have same ticking noise.

On the last engine i replaced Camshafts with vanos units, 24 lifters, checked boost solenoids, changed all 6 injectors. Removed the oil pan to check if thats spun rod bearing, but all 6 bearings are with in specs.

I ran out of options.

well today i drove it at 3000 rpms for 15 mins, and the noise is gone.
problem is probably at cylinder head lubrication lines, will change the oil to a thinner one and will post the result later.

DME flash could cause detonation that can also do a tick, be carefull with remapping

I have the same exact sound. Curious to know the source, if you definitively narrow it down.

Took the valve cover off and check, everything was ok, i know it's fuel injectors but have to make sure. After several runs high speed for around two weeks the noise has gone.

Lifters. Common issue with N52s. Goes away when the oil heats up and they're lubricated
