Default Disable DTC completely through bin file - 02-10-2018, 07:51 PM

Is there a way to completely disable DTC through the BEF bin files? I am looking at the JB4 backend flash files and see the DTC tables but I don't have the knowledge to know what these tables actually do. Can anyone shed some light on how these tables work and how to completely disable them?

My goal is to always have the car in the "hold down the button for 5 sec" mode.

There was already a request to do it per the JB4. Terry said if there was enough interest, he would think about adding the feature. As far as tunerpro goes, I'm not familiar enough with it either.

After a little google turns out that DTC means Diagnostic Trouble Code table instead of dynamic traction control table.

That would required disabling DTC (dynamic traction control) *and* ASC (active stability control), I think.
Seems like it would be doable, given that JB4 has an option to disable DTC upon start. (doesn't seem to work on my E60 though).

Short answer is "yes". Longer answer is this is coming in the future.

I remember reading a while ago that Terry didn't want to add this. Too much liability on BMS by having the car start up with absolutely zero traction/stability assistance. It's only a button press away.

Default I did it! - 05-14-2018, 03:18 PM

I came up with a harness that does the 5 sec hold automatically on ignition of the car. No more button holding for me. Still leaves the button operable if you want to turn it back on.
