Default New N55 World Record. ;) - 12-14-2013, 07:28 PM

Hey guys,

Just got back from Famoso raceway. Fun day overall and great conditions. I'm fairly exhausted so I'll keep this short for now.

The car is our 2011 N55 335i Steptronic w/ 50k miles.

Mods:
JB4
Vargas N55 Turbo
AA Intercooler
CPE Exhaust
BMS chargepipe
BMS OCC
BMS intake
BMS 2.2g meth
Back end flash
50% E85
Kosei K1 rims all around with Nitto 245/45/17 555R tires out back
Pasasnger seat removed, driver weight 185#

Results:
Managed a best of 11.42@123.10 w/ 1.85 60'. 2nd gear launch. Probably another .3ths in this with more boost and a more aggressive launch.

For those that missed it here is the latest dyno a few days before the track day:

That's a terrible reaction time too should be low 11s with a better reaction time and high 10s with better RT and more boost!!!!

Reaction time has nothing to do with your 1/4 time....

More time against the clock gives one more time to build up speed. It is your "reaction time" and therefore means less time against the clock against the finish line....no?

No, it's just the time before/after you CAN leave the line. You can sit there for 3 minutes and run a 11.42 quarter mi. The other person next to you would probably be off though lol

The way you're looking at it is if I just leave as soon as I line up, not waiting for the lights, I could run a 5 second quarter mile

The RT doesn't affect anything. I was just taking a little extra time to let the turbo spool up when brake boosting.

Wow, nice numbers Terry... Timing looks a little low with all things considering... Any plans on upping the timing to see if you can get her into the high 10's?

That is a crazy time, especially in an e90! In a 135i it'd be even quicker!

Congrats

With the stock turbo 2nd gear launches are much better. With the larger turbo it could go either way. But the 2nd gear launch times were faster than the 1st gear launch times. So I stuck with that most of the day.

With a larger turbo I think you can do it!

As of around 3pm Longboarder ran 10.9s@131 with his Porsche, Xtyper w/ the E63 was a traction limited mid 11s @ 130mph, Drew was in the 10s @ 135mph, Busta ran a very traction limited 11.8@123, and CJ2 12.2@114 IIRC.

This is great..glad to hear the N55 guys will have a viable option. Nice work!

Somebody get one of these on a 2012 so we can see what that HPFP is capable of!
