Default E82 N55 DIY/How To For Removing Transmission - 03-25-2017, 09:14 AM

Anyone got a link to a DIY/how to for an E82 N55 transmission removal, preferably DCT.

Can find a few for the N54 but not the N55. If there are none, is the N55 much different to the N54?

Am tempted however, whether I go in there depends on whether a reduced weight flywheel helps with the N55 misfires, especially on most DCTs?

If you are pushing out that much WHP then I would do it.

Will be interesting to see the results from Pure.

Their early testing on a N54 DCT shows a lighter flywheel cures the high 500 misfires and for the N55 I think they were initially going down the M4 flywheel route, as this fits the N55 DCT and is 10.5lbs lighter than stock but, it costs 800!

MFactory have some early production units which are marginally lighter than the M4 option at around 390.

Hopefully Pure should have some results out soon
